I really don't think man for man they are but the way they are playing - bit more flair and more bodies supporting each other in the oppostion half - is why they have more points.
As euphoric as I was after the Liverpool 0-0 I said that the worry was that Mr Pulis might think that's the answer for the rest of the season. Hull seem to have a plan regarding which games they think they can realistically win ( and after yesterday that might be a lot of games ) I'm not sure that Mr Pulis sends out players saying this is a game we can win.
Hopefully we will be more positive from the off against the next set of oponents now that we've got Liverpool and Chelsea out of the way -we'll see?

RAF...In all honesty you don't attend home matches and you watch most away fixtures through the bleary eyes of a dozen pints ;D so your views don't or shouldn't hold too much influence over the more realistic amongst us.
Hull have made a great start and fair play to them, but our performances have been decent even if results haven't exactly matched so far.
We are light up front in my opinion, especially without Fuller, and Lawrence is struggling. However, I still think we have enough about us to make a decent fist of this season. If we go down, we will go down a stronger club than either you or I have witnessed in our lifetime and should be in a good position to mount a good effort on promotion again.
There has been a huge over-reaction to our defeat at the hands of a superb Chelsea team, arguably the best club team in the world, much of which has probably been the result of Hull's fantastic win at Arsenal a couple of hours after our game.
They have some good players, as do we, and despite our respective starts, both clubs will have one hell of a job to do to remain in this league at the end of the season.
West Brom play all the football and are best equipped to survive. Ourselves and Hull are the whipping boys!

I can remember when it was at least a few games into the season before the Sunday Papers had the league standings in them. You cannot read to much into the standings this far into the season . You can take for granted Man Utd, Chelsea,Liverpool and Arsenal are more then likely going to be claiming a Champions League spot and the newly promoted teams will be fighting for survival along with Bolton,Fulham and a couple of others.
There is always the possibility Everton or Villa may break into the top 4 ,and one of the newly promoted sides will stay up .
I think by December the league begins to take shape and gives you a better idea of the outcome for the remainder of the season.
So i for one cannot deal with Hull being better then us yet .

Interesting to see what we would be saying if the roles were reversed. If we were up there now, and they were 18th, regardless of how tough / easy the starts have been, we would all be sneering down the league at them saying 'knew they would struggle etc.'.
Now i'm not one for liking Hull but fair play to them, they have had an outstanding start and so far have proven to be better equipped than Stoke to get results in this division - without question. However after another 6 games the picture could look different again, we could have a good run and Hull could dip. As things stand though, I would much rather be in Hull's position and hats off to them.
It's funny how some people look for any excuse as to why they could be up there other than they are playing well - their 2-1 win at Arsenal was a fluke but our 0-0 at Anfield was due to resolute defending. Unbelievable!!!
On their current form i'm not looking forward to playing them - I saw our back-to-back games with Brazil and Hull as an opportunity for 6 points, now i'm not so sure.

Still not above them yet though!
If and its a big IF we beat Bolton then things will look as good for us as they have for a while. Every week that goes by more teams are getting sucked in to the battle. Two wins on the bounce for anyone would totally alter the look of the table.
I still hope Hull stay up so long as its not at our expense but they really are in freefall!

So then RAF you can come to that assumption based on 6 league games can you ??? surely it makes sense to compare both sides at the end of the season, when the season has finished, or is your last word final? Hull Fixtures so far: Fulham (H) - fulham have the worst away record in the league by a country and if hull have any hope of staying up these games need to be victories. Blackburn (A) - not a bad result to be fair, but blackburn had only just appointing Ince so you could argue the home side needed time to gel. wigan (H) - well....again for me wigan at home has to be a game you take at least a point in, and the almighty hull got a severe reality check here. Newcastle (A) - playing against a side in crisis, who i think we would beat at the moment. Everton (H) - a draw was a reasonable result, but in fairness everton aren't playing well at the moment, and we were very hard done by when we played them. Arsenal (A) - credit where it is due an impressive result. But let's remember we have travelled to the reebok stadium and the riverside, two sides with good home form, a trip to anfield is a moutainous task for anyone. Villa at home was a magnficent result, everton was unfortunate, and sadly like most sides will find this season, chelsea are a cut above most teams. But to be honest the league table does no justice, hull have beaten a side with embarassing away form, and a side in crisis, two formalitys for a side looking to stay up. And a good win against arsenal. Compare that to us, we had an excellent victory against villa ( a potential top 5 team ) and a magnificent point at anfield, both sides have recorded excellent results, so lets judge stoke on the wigans, fulhams, hulls and west broms at home, and see then if we win our crucial games. Comparing the two teams ( Stoke and Hull ) by no means would i say there side is anymore superior to ours. Come to your assumptions when the season has finished, not after 6 games, of which they fixtures have been easier. People just love to criticise don't they. "But to be honest the league table does no justice......." I think the phrase you are searching for there is "The table doesn't lie".........But keep up the self-dillusion. You said it mate

(WINK WINK)
ps I honestly - NEVER actually thought for a moment they were actually better than us - and the home game at our place merely confirmed it even more to me.

Come on guys - no need for this.
We could just as easily resurrect the threads from those supposed 'rimmers' who were calling for Whelan to be kicked out of the club earlier in the season, when TP didn't include him in the team, and those who thought we might as well get shot of Ryan Shawcross to Ipswich on loan because he had a bad game at Bolton.
This kind of crap gets us nowhere.

Yes, isn't hindsight a wonderful thing?
RAF's original post was fair enough at the time and Hull did make an amazing start to the season. Let's be honest, at the time, they WERE better than us. The Premier League is hard work and has 'caught up' with Hull's early season form while we have continued to grow and improve. OK so a few of their fans 'jumped' on here to gloat at times but that's football! Others from Hull were pretty reasonable and have been all season.
Once we're safe, I hope they survive. Hull's story is akin to a fairy tale (Bottom division to Premier League in 10 years). Hope were both 'kicking more arrogant arses' next season.
