I love this line :
"I would rather have a team that can play football than a team who can battle for the ball and stand up and be counted!!"
how about a team that can score??
they are totally deluded

www.westbrom.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=71e5b0d3cb2f3f3ab09cbff6a1811da7&topic=33136.0some good quotes around: - I am not one for feeling down, but I think we are in trouble. Saturday really worries me. They will play a physical game and I believe we don't have the players to compete. I hope i am wrong but I think we could easily be 2 down inside 20mins if we are not up for the fight. We know what the prem is like. We will quickly become the countries laughing stock if we don't get something on the board quickly. Plus the press will get hold of whats going on, and make up stories saying their is unrest ect. We don't need this. We have got to get a result on sat otherwise the likes of Hansen and his mates will have us already down My only hope is that our brand of football will see us steady ourselves over the course of the season .. marathon not a sprint and all that ...

Now forgive me if im wrong...........some people on the thread are using the excuse "was a reserve team"....or...."wasn't even a reserve team we put out".
Does this look like a reserve squad?
Kiely; Hoefkens, Barnett, Meite, Cech; Koren (Pele 95), Valero, Greening, Brunt (MacDonald HT); Bednar (Beattie 65), Moore. Subs not used: Carson (gk), Martis, Dorrans, Slusarski.
The fact is they have scored 2 goals in 3 games and conceded 6. Looks like they need a goal scorer to me as one of those 2 goals was a pen in the 90th min

I know it was "only the cup" but the fact stands that they now have 3 defeats on the spin this season. That can't be good for confidence and I think if they don't get a result at Bolton on Saturday then alarm bells will certainly start to ring down at the Smethwick Maracana. Still, at least they play good football RoryM

They're a soft team at the best of times, they wont like it at Bolton as they're a physical team and that's not fair

"ALBION suffered a harsh Carling Cup second-round exit after being undone by an energetic Hartlepool side in extra-time."
They're using 'energetic' now rather than physical. I feel like they are on a campaign of pigeon holing people

Did you see Leon Barnett's error for the opener? Between him and Meite they really do have a couple of clowns in the centre of defence!

At least they can take comfort in having the moral high ground of playing 'proper football' . I hope they're still shouting "hoof!" when Bolton take them to the cleaners on Satdee ;D. Mowbray has stated that he won't sacrifice his 'principles' (which, by inference, means that TP and Tango Man have no principles, and are therefore morally bankrupt!) even if the going gets tough. This samba football could be an expensive and embarrassing dogma. We discovered we couldn't out-Bolton Bolton; they've discovered they can't out-Arsenal Arsenal. Unfortunately for them, their pretty play doesn't work against more direct teams like Everton either. So, basically, they're fooked!

I especially like the poster who wrote "if we had a striker who could finish EVERY chance that came to him, we'd be fine!"
So would every other team in the country, mate! ;D

;D at what Lakeland says! If we had defenders who won every header, and won every tackle, and no one got past them, Bolton wouldn't have beaten us ;D I said at the start of the season Stoke and Hull will be the teams getting points because playing like Brazil against teams like Arsenal doesn't work if you don't have world class quality, which the Baggies don't have. They're going to get "bullied" everyweek by every team if they don't sore themselves out!

Kiely; Hoefkens, Barnett, Meite, Cech; Koren (Pele 95), Valero, Greening, Brunt (MacDonald HT); Bednar (Beattie 65), Moore.
Actually, that is kind of a Reserve squad.
Reserve Keeper, Reserve Right back, Reserve Left Back, Recently signed and unadjusted Right mid, Left Mid subbed off at Half time, No Miller up front.
Its hardly our strongest line-up.

It’s hardly a weak line up though baggiejp!!! I like the comment on there website “It doesn’t matter how you play if you lose. Stoke were awful but won on Saturday” A bit bitter me thinks

i think that there is a very strong chance of them doing a derby
cause they have no strikers miller isn't good enough for premier league
and got rid of there 2 players who i think could cut it in the premier league
and then there defense is shocking and it was in the championship
;D ;D

So 8 of your first team started then?
I'm amazed Hartlepool could live with your extravagent, devil may care incredible football, let alone score three.
Oh, and having watched Everton's second, i cannot begin to tell you how fucking gutted i am we didn't sign Carson & Meite. They looked skill.

Baggie are you taking the pi$$? That was no reserve side you put out last night i agree, miller was missing, but he aint even scored this season.
We had a complete reserve side out bar a couple and still managed to win
your just a soft team with a manager who cant speak properly,
accept it

Miller might not have scored, but we've played Arsenal and Everton who have two of the best defences in the league.
He's currently our number one striker.
Let's see how we do against Bolton, and compare that to how you do against Bolton. Like for like wouldn't you say?

I think Stoke and WBA will do well against different teams. WBA really do need to get a good striker though.
