DAFT
TP is probably one of the safest managers in the game.

Pulis would still have a job even if we did worse than Derby.

What you have to remember is it's not actually a sack race it's the first manager to leave their position. The bookies wisely have factored the distinct possibility of TP saying yes when Real Madrid come calling.

TP might call it a day if things went truly pear shaped perhaps.

I really hope that we all back the manager throughout the season even if we revert to the more reserved tactics and we do end up losing the majority of games. TP is a good manager and stability is deffo the key to the game and who knows with more PR practise in the Premiership he could become the complete manager.

my money is on benitez to go first... followed by sir keggance of keegle... also mr bouncebackability at qpr will be off by chrimbo
megson, tango, and STP wont be sacked... there are no unrealistic expectations, if we all survive then great, if we dont we dont .. etc..

It's amazing how many people really have no idea what's going on at our club.
Their logic is that Stoke will obviously be the new Derby (they've read it in the papers and therefore it must be true) and thus a relegated club will automatically sack its manager. All that thought process has gone on and yet nobody has thought to actually research the politics going on at this former non-premiership club, because that'd take a bit of non-armchair work.
As somebody said above, TP's got the safest job in the league, whether we're relegated or not!

TP is exactly the sort of boss we would need at the helm if we go back down - he would be able to re-adjust to the Championship with no effort. Axing him part-way through this season would have longer-reaching implications.
BUT - ask me if I still think he'll be there in 2-3 years time......

We have people supporting Stoke at the ground next year Who either have not been for a while or go the big games.
How many defeats do you think it will take before the Pulis out chants start to emerge from certain quarters,HG gets his red cards out again and TP gets pissed off?
Bottom line is people are fickle(and that means most of us)human nature very often brings the less optimistic side out in us.

I can't see anyway that he would get sacked - Certainly relegation itself wouldn't be the trigger
It would take a lengthy series of heavy defeats and public humiliation - probably well in excess of that received by Derby - for Uncle Peter to ever think about getting rid of his mate.

I agree with antoinpanto. It's easy to say we'll all be behind Pulis all through next season while we sit here waiting for Wimbledon to finish, but I wonder how many heavy defeats (and there's bound to be a few) it'll take before some idiots start with the Pulis out chants.
I give it till December - and I really hope I'm wrong.
Stability is the way to build long term success.

Maybe you could be right, but and this is a big but, I genuinely believe TP won over a large percentage of the doubters, he turned a massive corner in my eyes, he stuck to his guns and did it his way. And bloody good on him! I agree with most of the above, job for life may be stretching it but he's far safer than most.
