Brilliant end to the season.
Great credit to the Head Coach, players and us fans.
Please don’t put us through it all again next season.

Us fans have been something else, I know I'm biased but the away support has been unreal,
I truly believe we'd have gone down if we hadn't have pulled together
It's a very happy coach I'm on here

Call me a sourpuss but I find it hard to celebrate avoiding relegation from the championship. Relief is my overriding feeling along with embarrassment
But well done to the away fans for continuing to travel in such numbers despite the fodder being served up most of the year

Definite relief rather than celebrations here. I allowed myself a little smile at the final whistle, but it could have been wind...

In a perverse way I can't help but feel we needed this season to finally shock the club to spring in to action, Blackburn away was a pivotal moment where everybody's goodwill evaporated, since then and with the arrival of SJW there's been a unity between the players and those of us in the stands which has been missing for a good decade.
Hopefully onwards and upwards now as one club 👊

As much fun as it was at Brighton in 1990 I’d prefer it isn’t repeated.

Think SJW needs a lot of credit for getting everyone pulling in the same direction and imploring us to drag them over the line.

The mood in the Wainwright household is more one of relief, than celebratory. However the beer does taste good tonight and we are ending this season on a better run than last season. Here's hoping for a good performance and result against Bristol City and fingers crossed we can take improved form into next season.

Absolutely nothing to celebrate.
Another shite season where we got closer to relegation than any other.
Well done lads.

Absolutely nothing to celebrate. Another shite season where we got closer to relegation than any other. Well done lads. Part of the joy of being a football fan is being able to appreciate both the small picture and the big picture. As well as the overall achievements for the season there are always countless interesting sub-plots and stories week to week. The big picture’s been very poor this season but the last two wins have been great. If we can’t celebrate a thumping 3-0 home win over our manager’s bitter former club and an excellent away victory against one of the best teams in the division there’s really no point following the team week after week. We suffer the shite in order to enjoy wins like that.

Yep I would add my congratulations to those who continue to do the hard yards of travelling and supporting a club that has been in decline for so many years. I’m glad that days like today give you some reward.

Absolutely nothing to celebrate. Another shite season where we got closer to relegation than any other. Well done lads. From Neil to Schumacher is worth celebrating. The signing of Burger, Bae Jun Ho and Million. The emergence of some genuine team spirit and a growing bond between team and supporters. The fact that the supporters stuck with the players and brought back some of the old atmosphere. A chink of blue sky in the gloom that shrouded the club half way through the season. Not our finest season but far from our worst.

Since the Blackburn game our record was:
P14 W6 D3 L5 F16 A15 Pts 21
Kind of edge of playoffs form (over a season it extrapolates to 69 points), so a huge turnaround from the previous 15 games! (I did one extra as this run of games starts and ends with Blackburn losses)
P15 W2 D5 L8 F13 A27 Pts 11
Let’s hope they can start at the same pace next year and keep it going!

Relief is my overriding feeling along with embarrassment But well done to the away fans for continuing to travel in such numbers despite the fodder being served up most of the year Totally get this and when we have narrowly avoided relegation in the past I have felt exactly the same. Tonight, however, I do feel like a small celebratory tipple as the players (and manager !) have worked so hard the last few weeks to turn around a dire situation. Can always remember the last time we were relegated to the third tier…….last game of the season at home to Man Citeee (hard to believe now)……both of us in danger of going down and we lost 2-5 and both got relegated. Felt more sympathy for them than us.

The home form has been appalling and there’s very little to look forward to. We need 7 new first teamers minimum and will likely finish bottom half again. Great.

Hopefully onwards and upwards now as one club 👊 How is this different to any of the other 7 or 8 seasons that have gone before though. There should have been numerous wake up calls for our owners previously. Will we start next season with not a solitary viable left-back at the club and an unbalanced squad which lacks competition and quality, particularly in defensive areas, will we be sitting here this time next year with yet another British no-hoper manager in charge(which we will probably have to google to find out who they are) and be struggling in the bottom half of the table once again, will we have yet another bizarre window to follow the umpteen that have preceded - maybe not with the appointment of JW, but you can't blame people for suffering from inertia and just expecting all the bizarre goings on at our club to continue for as long as the current owners are still pulling the strings. In the 21st century where the margins between success and failure are minimal and success can be found in the finer details - it can't be acceptable to have owners that cut out 95% of the managerial market and refuse to employ someone just because the lump of mud they were shat out on - is not part of the UK - it is unacceptable. JC may have made his first decent decision in a long while in appointing JW - and he needs to step back and let him get on with everything to do with the footballing side of things - including hiring and firing managers - wont happen though, so if things are going to change I think we need a change at the very top, but I have been saying this for the last few seasons now and I could probably copy this response and use it again next year.

For most of the season, I’ve been bored as we’ve carried on sleepwalking into relegation. Thankfully, someone pinched our feet before the end of the campaign.
