It annoys me, that he never asks who the subs are when he is going through the team with the assistant manager.

I'm really warming to Sohail and after having been parachuted in from nowhere I think the feeling is becoming mutual. Mild mannered, likeable and inquisitive as he is I think he is an excellent 'bounce' for our more opinionated experts and former players like Pejic and Whelan. I think he does a job similar to that of Jonathan 'Aggers' Agnew on Test Match Special, like a soft spoken wind up man for everyone from Fred Trueman to Geoff Boycott to Glenn McGrath. No point in trying to be 'Nige the 2nd', anyone attempting that would just crash and burn! Can we get him to pronounce 'Boothen' in the local dialect and I'll be content šš
Itās boo then at the moment, all he needs to do is make it into the one word itās meant to be! BM

Good enough I suppose, but why then during the games I'm always thinking there has to be better out there. Not sure why they continue to bring Cranson in...might as well be mumbling in Greek. ā¦ā¦..a mumbling Greek whoās just stubbed out his reefer on the way into the commentary box.

I think heās doing a good jobā¦.heās definitely improving all the time. I think itās one of the hardest gigs to do on radio, trying to give a continual narrative of a match aināt easy. Iām sure if there were massive silences when nothing much was happening, people would moan ā¦..in those moments what do want the guy to say ? I think we should be less critical ā¦letās face it big Nige was always going to be a hard act to followā¦.the guy was a legend..

Iām usually trying to listen to the crowd to find out whatās going on. Although his line during a free kick on Saturday ā¦ āitās going to be a left foot or a right foot shotā did make me laugh. Super insightful.

Why have we got just a supporter as summariser again today.
It's not a Community or Hospital radio station ffs, only on Radio Stoke is this allowed to happen.

Which pub do you drink in that has articulate and coherent speakers like him at this time on a Saturday lol

Well, my season was ruined by the unlistenable commentary that I gave up on! It's been my way of a matchday 'experience' for many years now . I don't know if he got any better or not but I'm guessing he didn't! None of the supporters were listened to who voiced complaints. Maybe things will change next season but I won't hold my breath. Not much point in carrying on with the subscription to the Official site either really as I paid mainly to listen to it! Anyway, happy days that we stayed up.

Southamptonās commentary was something today. The actual commentator was decent but his Co commentator was watching a different game, he seemed to think they threw the kitchen sink at us second half. Iām struggling to recall them having a shot on target

My thoughts exactly, I prefer to have a commentator alongside an ex player (not necessarily a Stoke player) for the insight.

I listened again today. I have no idea where the ball is on the field of play nor who is in possession. I hear crowd sounds and the commentary bears no relation to them. However, I heard two blokes having a lovely chat about all sorts of things.

I went for a lovely walk up the roaches, got in the car, put radio Stoke mid match and it took 15 mins of acid induced diatribe before I found out we were winning š¤£

Loved Pejic as a player, but his inability to construct a relevant sentence is embarrassing.

I wouldnāt pick Pejic personally, but there must be plenty of ex footballers within ~25 years of their retirement from the game who could do the job. Clive Clarke was decent enough.

I've grown to like Sohail over the season but today his assistant, although quite insightful, was filling too much space and seemed to talk over much of the play when really he should have STFU and let Sohail tell us what was happening - lost count of the number of times he talked when the corner was being taken!

Listening while watching makes you realise how awful the commentary is. Half the action is missed whilst cakes and chocolates etc are given in great detail. It's supposed to be a commentary of a football match describing the action on the pitch, this lot haven't a clue.
