I'd probably try to get Mmaee out again. Hopefully, we're not going to persist with strikers that don't score goals. Keep him along with Ennis, and that's two of your maybe three, main strikers pool, with no goals in them.

Realistic and with FFP in mind, who should Stoke be looking at in the Summer? I hear Dutch players are pretty good at the moment! Is FFP a major issue for Stoke? I thought the restrictions were eased for you after this season?

BBD would be stopping at Sheffield United surely with parachute payments, if he doesn't attract a promoted club?
You'd think he would be a shoo-in for a Leeds, Ipswich, Leicester or Saints should they go up?

Any chance of a loan move for Harry Souttar? He's totally out in the cold at Leicester which won't change if they go up.

Would have thought Harry would be reluctant to come back, even on loan and I’d rather we looked for a permanent signing elsewhere.

If we want an older, experienced player, I’d be looking in the direction of Danny Welbeck myself.
Johannson or Iverson in for keeper position Toffolo left back Tom Cairney for midfield Danny welbeck
Too ambitious?

I’ve no idea why and I could be miles off the mark, but I get the impression that Harry left under something of a cloud and doesn’t necessarily hold a great deal of affection for the club.

All good shouts Dave. Not sure I rate Iversen if I am honest, that said I wasn't convinced by Travers either.

I hadn't heard anything like that. I doubt his experience at Leicester makes him an attractive proposition to many clubs. When you add on his injury he hasn't played much football for 2 years. It might be a case of beggars can't be choosers. Anyway. Think we need a monster like him in this back line. A permanent signing from somewhere would be good.

Noted Peterborough just lost. Can’t go up automatically now. Lose in the play offs and there some decent players to target. Talk of Poku and Burrows at Xmas in two positions we need to strengthen. Ronnie Edward’s centre half supposed to be rated as well.

Problem is Posh always ask silly money for their players

|
Post by independent on Apr 24, 2024 10:02:10 GMT
It's not silly money when they are able to get it, it's realistic. Didn't we get silly money for Souttar who has played 12 games in 2 seasons for Leicester. And one of those seasons they were in the Championship. That's what good managers do. They make players look better than they actually are, by playing to their strengths. With Gayle,Wesley and Clark (all on big money) all off the wage bill next season we should have plenty of room to manoeuvre. Don't forget MON spent no money at all in his last window, so surely our FFP situation must have improved even more this June.
