This always comes up yet nobody explains why. The only reasoning I can think of is with relegation, comes redundancies for local people and a downturn in trade for match day suppliers, which is a shame for those affected. Happened when Stoke got relegated from the Prem. I seriously doubt that relegation from league 1 to league 2 will result in redundancies. Vale seem to have good sensible owners these days

Just had a browse over on one vale fan and smurthwaite has resurfaced and is rubbing noses in it and it also appears that grotbag herself is posting on it too!
Comedy gold!

I went one of their games earlier in the season as my cousins had a free ticket and we went the Bursley Ale House. It was good tbf. Cheap food and drink and had the PL game on.
Vale then lost to Cheltenham 🤣
It made the Champo look like a World Cup final.

People were keen to make the arguement that Stoke's relegation from the Premier League was detrimental to the City (fewer high profile games, smaller crowds affecting match day businesses, less media coverage etc). If that is true then the converse should also be true - that the higher up the pyramid the TWO clubs are - the more beneficial for the City it is. being in the premier league and seeing crowds of 30000 regularly in the city would have an impact on the local economy and maybe investment in the area. Having a stadium somewhere like Hanley, with a bigger capacity and allowing for bigger followings from cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, that would help the economy of the city too. That's what should have happened when we built the stoke ground. But having 3000 weirdos in burslem going to a match makes no difference at all, they'll all go whatever division they're in I personally don't accept Stoke's relegation was bad for 'the City' - for a few pubs and burger flippers maybe, but not the City. I'm just saying it was an arguement some people made - which if true then the best situation for 'the City' is surely both Stoke and Vale in the Premier League and the sooner the better.

So to even realistically have a chance they need a draw and a win in the last two because of goal difference, and if Burton pick up a single point it’s over. Vale have Bolton away next…

Welcome to football my inbred friends 😁

Bolton have fucked up tonight as well so it looks like they’ll be in the play offs now with Derby’s fixtures they have left so I’d imagine they’ll be on a downer for their game against the Vale on Saturday, must win for both sides

They aren’t surviving now are they? Cheltenham have an extra game too so if anyone is getting out of it, it’s them.

Lincoln at home - 7th and chasing the play offs Peterborough at home - 4th, got a game in hand and have a shot at 2nd Stevenage away - 9th - out of any race but still a good side away.
