Schumacher he never allowed Sky to draw him into blaming the referee for our performance or the result. He should have though To what benefit?

To attempt to send a message to the referees union that Stoke have had 2 appalling decisions in one game so be on guard and don't make a howler with Stoke the next few games or people will realise that we are really shit at refereeing..

We have done that before with the result that nothing happens, by the way the refs don't choose to make rubbish decisions. Also it moves the focus off a dire display individually and collectively by the team.

Well on the motivation side of things it won't do Schumacher any harm to shield the players from how wank they played and to blame it somewhat on 2 terrible decisions. We need to keep their pathetic heads up as much as we can to get this 4 points we need. The shit hitting the fan in terms of ripping the players apart can wait till after the Bristol game when hopefully we are safe..

A bit of a clear out of shyte yes. Just don't think we can afford another 20 player influx. We need to be smarter and do this a bit slower with a lot more thought than last summer imo.

No doubt in the end BUT we were denied a clear goal. Goals change games and mindsets. It was a difficult decision for the ref without VAR and I have a sliver of sympathy with him on this. Split second decisions on not normal circumstances. The second decision regarding the penalty was outside the area and he was two yards plus behind visible certainty. He looked unfit to me. When you look at the ref last night at Asrenal they are worlds apart. He is meant to be a ref at an elite level because he can make those decisions that are tough and not normal. Any old granny could wander around awarding throw ins and soft free kick in the centre circle. You shouldn’t be getting to be a ref at such a level if you can’t reliably make the correct decision rather than the easy one. He chose easy. As for the penalty I have more sympathy as he’s not close enough to it but he very clearly has a linesman whose only job is to keep up with play and should have told him it was outside which easily keeps it at 1-0 even if he still disallowed our goal. VAR has to come into play at all professional levels or be in none of them.

I dunno about anyone else but the white lines looked barely visible, surely there are rules regarding that. Unfortunately, if it did have any bearing on his decision. The ref does the inspection and makes the decision and as we’ve established, he’s incompetent at best.

Swansea have lost 26 points from winning positions this season. An equaliser for us could have put doubt into their players minds as and made their supporters jittery, whilst increasing our players confidence.
