As much as i love festivals the coverage and bands they have shown so far on BBC3 have been piss poor .A couple of decent bands on the world stage but the Pyramid stage and other stage bands have been really poor. The music press has hyped up a lot of these bands and they just cant hack it at the festival stage, Long live John Peel..

It looks pretty poor tbh.
The crowd look wank aswell. I hope V Fest is better, though it should be as the line up is better.
Editors looked good, everyone else seemed poor. How crap are the Ting Tings live?
EDIT: We Are Scientists looked good aswell to be fair.

Really looking forward to seeing the verve on sunday, thats about it really, I'm not impressed with this years line up, although i haven't seen who's on the smaller stages, spiritualized are on one of them though, so there could be one or two gems on there somewhere.

I will watch it when I can this year but unlike other years where I have sat there all weekend watching the coverafe, I can't seem to get into it this year. The line ups are crap, Jay Z Headlining is the biggest joke since Fat Boy Slim headlined (granted he stepped in for Kylie last minute). Says it all when they could hardly flog the tickets. Evis is killing the festival slowly The other thing that's bugged me for years now on the BBC's coverage of Glastonbury is their use of the red button service. There is so much potential for this. They could select live from all the main stages if they wanted to. The potential is there to do this but all they seem to do on this service is show hioghlights here and there meaning you still miss half of the acts. It is time someone got hold of the coverage that can do something properly with it.

Last time I was there was 2000 when David Bowie topped the bill - 30 years after he first appeared there - and I spoke to the one and only John Peel..

bosted clog, dead right mate. glastonbury is the best festival because of the atmosphere. how anyone can even compare the likes of glasto to v festival (which is probably the most pathetic festival i have ever been to) i will never know.
the line up is superb. it has far more depth and variety than any other festival in the country. v fest has a couple of decent acts on this year, but 80% of it is truly piss poor.
gutted i cant be at glasto, i will be there next year!
roll on reading.

From the bedroom to the festival stage is never a good move. In days gone by bands honed their craft through years of touring the bars and small halls before playing a festival. Now a few spotty kid puppets with the right management, haircut and rip-off 2 chord sound get hyped to death on the far-too-powerful Radio One. The next thing they have a 'hit' album a festival slot and they are classed as the next big thing. Before thankfully disappearing without trace 6 months later.

If anything has changed it for the worse (bear in mind that the last time I went was in 1982!), it is the commercialism of it, and given that it is, at the end of the day, Michael Eavis' festival, he could be blamed for it having turned into the sterile behemoth it now seems to be, but at the same time, there'd be no Festival in the first place without him. EDIT - LONG LIVE THE MEMORY OF JOHN PEEL.

I would love to hear Westwoods version of "ive got a brand new combine harvester" and "if you diss it i'll put a flat cap in your ass".
take note kids when listening to Westwood. One too many joints and you really might end up like that in later life ;D

What the fuck were they thinking. This isn't the back street beirut LA it's the fucking UK.
I wish they would all piss off to homie land and leave us all in peace.
