The message wasn’t extreme at all. Nobody is in hiding because of it. Nobody has received death threats. It is a complete non-issue. Nobody was harmed. Go do the same in an Islamic country see how you get on. You'll be hide and seek champion recieving death threats before you know it. Why would I want our country to be a place where there isn’t freedom to express your religious views? Why do you want to live in a place like that? Presumably you don’t hence your above post. So why stoop to the level of the Islamic country you have in mind?

Each to their own though.

I have never said the message was the same as wishing someone happy Easter. But then again, you can’t read so I guess you wouldn’t know or understand the difference.

Totally agree, the Jews had the Mikveh then the Christians nicked it and called it Baptism because every child is born into sin and can't become a Christian until Baptised Even today some people believe in this ridiculous mumbo-jumbo

To me it is saying everyone in life does bad things (unquestionably true and not hateful) and that if you do bad things it is best to say sorry and own up to your behaviour. I don’t see that as hateful at all. In fact, it is quite a positive message.

Even you must be able to comprehend that it's not an appropriate message for the setting with the vast array of commuters with vastly different views on religion looking up at the message board. Merry Xmas, Happy Easter, Wishing you joy this Eid it was not.

Do people ask you if it is all about you when you express your opinion? No, so shut up with your pointless personal posts. Like I said, the message doesn’t bother me in the slightest and no reasonable person could call it hateful. It was rightly removed because I don’t think public spaces should be filled with religious texts from any religion. But it wasn’t spreading hate, it doesn’t mean non-Muslims need to go into hiding because some danger is coming, and it wasn’t Sadiq Khan’s fault. All things people have said on this thread!

In striving to preserve great British/Christian Traditions it probably hasn't occurred to them that the origin of these cakes pre-date Christianity and were first baked to honour the Germanic Female God of Fertility Eostre after whom Easter is named. The X represented the four quarters of the Moon
National Hot X Bun Day is celebrated on September 11th or 9/11 if you prefer, go figure
Like all Zealots they appropriate customs and claim their version the most pure.
Christianity was born out of Judaism and Islam from both.
Not content to co-exist they must argue and fight Wars to contest which is superior. It's as futile as two Bald Men fighting over a Comb

Right back at ya. I agree. But the message didn’t really say that I read it as 'you can do whatever you want because you're already a sinner, and as long as you repent, you're better than those who didn't'. That's how I read it anyway.

Plaiting fog now You really are a fucking idiot Wishing someone happy Easter is totally different to a train organisation telling me I’m going to hell if I don’t repent my sins and acknowledge a man coming back from the dead two days after getting stoned nailed and stabbed to death You’ve just made yourself look like a fool now. It’s a Muslim hadith, so why would it be referring to Jesus?! (Islam acknowledges Jesus as a prophet of God btw). And where was the reference to Hell? Can you actually read? To me the message is simple. All people are prone to doing bad things. But those who show remorse for the wrong things they do are on a path to better things. I’m bemused why the atheists are getting their panties in a twist about this.

I wonder what would have happened if an "over enthusiastic" atheist employee had put a message up saying something like God is a man made construct and Muhammed pinched the made up torah and bible to invent their own religious construct? Any panty twisting going on or what?

Any panty twisting going on or what? No, because that is obviously provocative. I think every group (even racists) should be allowed their free speech so long as it's not insulting or inflammatory. A suitable 'hadith' for atheists could be something like "No one can prove life after death. The only certainty is life itself". There was nothing provocative in the King's Cross message. Atheists and anti-Islamists have just taken the words and twisted it into something else entirely.
