Do we really need endless posts criticising our own players? What does this achieve? Probably because its hard for us to praise people who dont deserve it? You're entitled to not praise someone who you don't think deserve it. But have you - and many others - ever thought of not speaking at all, if you don't have positive things to say about a player. You reply to senojbor's post, but you don't reply to the question of 'what does this achieve'? Is it about people bigging themselves up by putting a player down? I'll tell what that - and cheering when he's replaced - doesn't achieve. It doesn't make him or anybody more determined to do his best for such thankless customers, because they are sure not supporters.

Campbell needs to move on. He's gone stale and needs a new club where he may go on to be a half decent championship striker. I personally just feel he's never going to do it in a stoke shirt. Too many fans think he's not bothered about Stoke and I think they are right. Time to go our separate ways..

Do we really need endless posts criticising our own players? What does this achieve? It's a discussion forum. OK, there's criticism, but most of it is people's thoughts and it's not all negative. Do we only discuss positive things? Do "we" even "discuss"? It seems more a selection of rude one-liners that people apparently think are really smart. Well, they're not.

I'm no fan of over the top abuse but if someone has a strong opinion about a player and something to back it up then fair enough. Campbell is frustrating, you know he could be a half decent striker but for various reasons it just hasn't panned out that way. His ACL injury obviously didn't help. As I said above probably best he moves on for a new project where he may find somewhere he starts performing. But of course hopefully he doesn't turn up here with a new club and Peter Thorne us 😬

If Tyrese scores the goal that mathamatically keeps us up, he can have the keys to the city as far as I'm concerned. I'd like to see him up top with either Ennis or even Mmaee if the latter comes back, as he's always been more effective in tandem.

Do we really need endless posts criticising our own players? What does this achieve? This. It's really pathetic and tiring. We had a good win and the player in question contributed to it, but that's not good enough for some, who want to start a whole thread whenever he misses a half decent chance.

No I think he’s shown where he’s at. Even the Campbell Club have stopped defending him now. Bad, worse or worst, but even Campbell does not deserve to be cheered off by his own alleged supporters. No I agree, I think saying nothing would’ve been more appropriate. It shows the frustration from the fans though, even though it wasn’t necessary.

But once the match day is over everyone should be able to conduct themselves in a civilised manner in a public forum. I think what we too often see is abuse of the freedom of expression. This noble concept doesn't mean that you have the right to verbally abuse players that for one reason or another perform below the level of expectation whatever that may be. Whether Campbell, or others previously like Vokes or Brown, plays well or not, they did the best that they could- They tried for the 90 or less minutes they were on. He kept PNE's defenders busy and tired enough for others to exploit the empty spaces that allowed OG and McNally to score (can't recall whether Ty was still on when the second went in) . I understand that it doesn't look good when Campbell doesn't even try to challenge a header, but we have to trust his judgement that he wasn't going to win the ball. There's also no point in wishing him away, because for the next nine games he remains a Stoke player. One that we should support.

I'm more used to being criticised for going on and on. I also think I've backed my verdict with fact, although I've been wrong more than once. I have actually praised his qualities as a player. But you're probably right in suggesting that I've been on Ben's case a little too much.

Mate I don't disagree with you about Pearson appearing to be fat, unfit, uninterested, slightly unhinged with a yellow card fetish. I have no issue with your description of him and his (lack of) contribution to our season so far. I was simply pointing out the apparent hypocrisy that it's ok to be continuously rude and disparaging about one player but not about another. For the record I don't think Ty's shit I'm just frustrated that he's never lived up to his promise through what appears to be a lack of effort and application coupled with a very bad injury just at the point where he was beginning to show some real form. Hopefully if Campbell or Pearson play in the next 9 games they have a positive impact.

There's also no point in wishing him away, because for the next nine games he remains a Stoke player. One that we should support. Fair points. Its funny really, Ricky Fuller had regular patches where he'd look like he'd rather be supping lager and chewing on a blunt on a Carribean beach and then he'd go and produce a goal out of nowhere. I don't recall ever calling him a lazy git. I guess the more goals you get the more tolerant the fans will be. Tyrese just hasn't produced enough product to shield himself from criticism given his demeanor and playing style? Also I guess we are all to greater and lesser degrees a bit hypocritical. Campbell just needs to find another club if you ask me. A change of scenery will probably do him good. And we've got room to get another striker in with him off the wage bill.

Sheeeesh you as well.... Ok ok actually you're both right!......we got to have plans in place for both eventualities. Yeah ok As you were lads 😅 What you on about? Sorry mate, was just having a laugh, should've explained myself better....was reference to my reply to biglad180, where I was basically saying in a jokey way that I wasn't that confident of us staying up, to be in the frame of mind to consider what players we might go for if we did stay up... i really think that Blackburn might drop they have a real bad run in,maybe a move for Szmodics, if Campbell leaves,or even Whittaker if Plymouth drop, i think we are only for players short of been a good team in this league,,provided we stay in it, *sharp intake of breath* Steady on lad ....then when I saw you joining in the discussion with him, I thought "you as well", meaning you too are talking as though we might stay up. As I say, just having a laugh really, probably a nervous laugh lol, as I am quite nervous about possible relegation. Then when I said "actually you're both right", I was indicating that it actually is right to discuss those things, because its ok to consider both eventualities, as indeed the club staff need to do to make plans for both eventualities. Having said all that, I do think we have a fair chance of staying up now considering recent form

I'm a Campbell defender usually but I have to say he just doesn't seem to buying into the Schuey work ethic. He was ambling around yesterday and he's not offering enough on the ball to warrant his lack of effort off it. And if I hear one more person compare this to Fuller I'll scream, one was a special player and one is struggling to consistently score 5 goals as season in the championship. I just don't think he'll ever be a central striker as much as we all hoped he would be. I don’t think he’s bought into any of our managers work ethics. Remember when we questioned why he could never last no more than 70 mins before blowing out of his backside…… he now lasts 90 mins as he spreads his effort now over the whole 90 mins, hence the general lack of effort we see from him now.

Campbell should leave this summer for the good of his career and to get in as much brass as possible by moving on a free.
Pre injury he was quick in straight lines, could turn pretty well and showed how talented he was at striking a ball. Post injury I genuinely think the only thing he's lost is the ability to stop start. Which in our team of, slow build up and give the opposition all the time to drop deep, means he's not going to impact the game as much as he could.
I'd be okay with him staying, I think he's well liked amongst the group of players and appears to think positively.

I do think however there's a difference in the language used, in simply brandishing someone 'wank' etc, and in pointing out where and why someone appears to be showing a bad attitude.

Campbell just needs to find another club if you ask me. A change of scenery will probably do him good. He apparently believes there will be suitors in the summer, because an Italian club came in for him in the last transfer window. He turned them down, because he wanted the freedom of contract to get more money for himself, which is fair enough. There will however be many other players available on Bosmans in the summer, so time will show whether he really is wanted on the continent or whether he should have accepted the chance that was offered to him.

My thread simply posed a question for discussion about Campbell who has rarely fulfilled the potential that his talent deserves and a lot of people have the same feelings it seems.I have no intention to big myself up as you put it neither would I ever advocate booing one of our players. As for what it achieves I don't think any thread on here would be for that purpose. The club will please themselves what happens to Campbell but I am pretty sure they have been disappointed that his level of achievement has rarely matched his talent, which is a great shame as he has the potential to be a star at a higher level! I don't dislike him or want to criticise him but he could put in more effort to be successful. I will not be wanting a protracted discussion with you about it either.

In some ways reminds of Powell - bags of talent but lacking the insane amount of drive and mental toughness to make it at the top level. Complete opposite to players like Brown and Gooch - limited talent but the drive and energy to do better than their ability would suggest. I appreciate talent but if the application isn't there I prefer to watch a trier - it's way less frustrating.
