There is a wider issue with women, who very few people have even heard of, being given jobs of commentators or pundits in the men's game. Rogers has been in the game all his life as a player and manager at the highest level, so no wonder he's patronising to a women who is reading from a script. I'm not in the minority in thinking this. I've heard of women. One of them lives in my house.

Utterly pathetic and who are these sad bastards who think there’s something wrong with what he said🙄 Pretty similar to what’s in the news today about Mary Poppins and Peppa Pig "Anyone with a different opinion than me is a sad bastard" Fucking hell 🤣🤣

It is pretty patronising. It isn't at all Commonly said in NI My Dad would say Good Girl, Good Man etc all the time. In no way patronising but part of the dialect. People have been saying it for decades Even the Good Girl in question said is no big deal

Commonly used term of endearment in NI. 'Babe' is also a term of endearment all over the world and you wouldn't say that to a random person you were talking to. This absolutely does happen though..

If it were a man he would have said "good lad" and walked away the same. It's a non issue. Now he may be a condesending knob but there was nothing at all in what he said.

I manage a sales team of 7. My top producer is a female, great girl, she came in today and greeted me with "morning fuckface", I replied "morning shithouse". I then made us both a cuppa, but I suppose I should be arrested?????

Problem is nobody says good woman or good lady. People say good boy or good man.
Saying good boy to a man would be patronising. Saying good man to a man isn't offensive.
If Brendan meant it like good man then I don't see the issue. If it was like good boy then fair enough.
Thing is the woman interviewer isn't bothered or offended so it's being made into something it shouldn't have been imo.

I’ve always had to pay to be called a good boy by a woman. It’s usually after I’ve deposited a couple of love eggs they introduce to ensure I behave.

Do women say to men good boy?🤪 I wonder why not?🧐 I say "good Lad" to work colleagues, and NOBODY bat's an eyelid.... In fact, nobody even thinks about it, to even think about batting an eyelid!!! 🤔 Unless you're looking to be offended of course??? 🫡

Kills me to agree with Bayern. But yes, it’s clearly patronizing. If the woman didn’t care, fair enough. But that doesn’t mean it’s not patronizing. And saying it’s part of the dialect is a cop out in this day and age. I fear that some of you are going to go to your graves seething with anger about the way of the world. It’s changing, for fuck’s sake. You don’t have to like it, but the world doesn’t give a shit what you think. If someone said “good girl” where I work, well, I can’t imagine the shock!! The only possibly acceptable context would be if you were really close, long-time friends with her. So, Bayern, congrats, you finally got one right!😀
