What would you do from here? Seems a decent Chap but he has really had the wool pulled over his eyes with the exception of Michael O Neill. Snake oil salesman, chancers, bullshitters, it is clear the current process is 100 percent broken. If you were him what woukd you do? Ask Dad for help? Call Pulis?, Accept you are most likely getting relegated? Resign and go play Golf. Feel sorry for the guy, this is am absolute trainwreck from where I am sitting.

Accept that my best role would be to release finances for transfers/appointment/upkeep of facilities and that I needed to appoint a football based chairman, Director of Football and coaching staff.
Clearly a fan but not a successful chairman/board member by any stretch of the imagination

Accept the inevitable and face the fact that we are in League 1 next season. Clear out the squad, sack the entire Board. Hire a DOF and give him a clean slate. The only contact John has with the club is his accountant and the DOF.
Keep - Bonham - Junho - Thompson - Junior - Gooch. The rest are gone as their agents will demand a move. We have seen how physically weak we are. League One will be even more physical.
Tired of seeing other teams with no name players kick our ass. We need no name players with heart and desire and build from there. We are Sunderland apparently.

The Coates family have been good for the club but since JC has taken control from his father things have not been good. He seems out of his depth in football terms and makes some poor decisions. Hopefully John Walter’s has interim director of football will help bring some order. I know we can’t keep blaming managers. Something else is deeply rotten in the club and I think the attitude of a lot of the players is poor. We have been signing players on free transfers or on loan deals. Generally speaking players are out if contract for a reason and that is they are either crap, have poor attitude or past their best. Not many good footballers are out of contract.

Because we're in the bottom 3 some are getting a bit carried away.
In a massive dogfight now but little between teams at the bottom
What would I do , wait until the Summer. Forget this reset nonsense in League 1. Staying up all that matters at the moment.

With the money that the family have , every chancer on the planet will fancy fleecing Jon. He does need guidance from somewhere. We all love the club and if we had the poke, could we run a football club team wise? I doubt it. He needs someone to run the club , someone who can smell a bullshitter from a mile off. He needs to reach out, speak to people like Pullis and John Rudge and find away forward. When you change direction and manager has much as we have in the last few years, you have got to realise you may need help.

Hand the keys to someone who is competant in running a tuck shop as they would be far more experienced than John.
He can sign all the cheques he wants from anywhere in the world. Just stay away from making any further decisions for this club.

If that's you asking us John under a secret identity... , I'd stick with Schumacher. Pray to god we stay up but you give him and his team the power to get what and who they need for whatever league we're in next season
Yet another sacking isn't the answer. We've done it.. Fuck knows how many times and we've done about 3 different resets. And its got worse
We've got the financial clout to compete in the top 10 of the Premier League yet we're dicking about and flirting with the 3rd twatting tier
Stick or twist (again) - who the fuck would want to take this poison chalice?
For me, stick and you get the snakes out. And learn from mistakes
We'll get it right, eventually

Can we get Chat GPT to run the club.
"How can Stoke City FC become a success and return to the premier league?"
Chat GPT says:
Stoke City FC's return to the Premier League and achieving long-term success involves a multifaceted strategy that encompasses on-field performance, financial health, infrastructure, and community engagement. Here are several key areas the club could focus on:
1. Strategic Planning and Management Long-Term Vision: Develop a clear, long-term strategy that includes objectives for promotion, sustainability in the Premier League, and financial stability. Effective Leadership: Ensure strong leadership from the boardroom to the management team, with everyone aligned on the club's goals and strategies.
2. Financial Management Sustainable Spending: Operate within a sustainable financial model, balancing investment in the squad with the club's revenue streams to avoid falling foul of financial fair play regulations. Revenue Generation: Increase revenue through commercial deals, matchday income, and player sales. Investing in marketing and global branding can also help in this regard.
3. Squad Building and Development Talent Identification and Recruitment: Invest in a robust scouting network to identify and recruit players who offer value for money and have the potential to perform at a Premier League level. Youth Development: Strengthen the academy to develop homegrown talent, reducing the need for expensive transfers and creating a pathway to the first team for young players. Team Cohesion: Focus on building a balanced and cohesive squad, with a mix of experienced leaders and young talents, all committed to the club's vision.
4. Coaching and Performance High-Quality Coaching: Ensure the coaching staff is capable of developing players, implementing modern tactics, and adapting to the challenges of both the Championship and the Premier League. Performance Analysis: Utilize data analytics and performance analysis to gain competitive advantages in training, player development, and match strategy.
5. Infrastructure and Facilities Stadium and Training Facilities: Invest in high-quality training facilities and stadium improvements to attract better players and enhance the matchday experience for fans. Medical and Sports Science: Emphasize injury prevention, player fitness, and recovery through state-of-the-art sports science and medical facilities.
6. Fan Engagement and Community Involvement Fan Experience: Improve the overall fan experience to boost attendance and create a formidable home advantage. Community Programs: Engage with the local community through outreach programs, supporting local initiatives, and making the club a pillar of the community.
7. Adaptability and Resilience Flexibility: Be prepared to adapt strategies as circumstances change, whether due to financial pressures, changes in competition, or other external factors. Resilience: Build a club culture that is resilient in the face of setbacks, with a focus on long-term goals rather than short-term fixes. Achieving success and securing a return to the Premier League will require patience, smart decision-making, and consistent effort across all levels of the club. It's about building a strong foundation that not only aims for promotion but also ensures the club is competitive and financially viable in the long term.

I'd ask Denise to help me out for six months on the business side (or one of her top men) I'd ask Tony Pulis to come on a 12 month contract to oversea character of new signing assessments.. I'd appoint JDT as Head Coach. I'd appoint Ryan as his assistant if JDT was agreeable. I'd keep SJW as chief scout and a vehicle to tie the lot together. I'd tell the catering department to serve hot gravy and peas with the pies. I'd tell the catering department to increase the Pedigree temperature a couple of degrees. I'd run a properly organised shuttle bus from trentham gardens.
Go for it JC.

After all the financial losses are a drop in the Ocean. Something to exchange banter about when he's out to dinner with his sister and brother-in-law.

Surely, he has to go down as one of the worst chairman the club has ever had? Likely to oversee two relegations and it’s not for anything other than his own rank incompetence and inability to identify and then hire good quality staff.

Every club in the world are trying to sign the best manager they can find. It is anything but an exact science. How many managers did Man Utd. go through before getting Ferguson to win the League for them. How many more will they go through before winning it again and they have almost unlimited funds and the option of any manager in the world. Similarly it took Liverpool, Brighton and Forest decades to get the right manager. It is very easy to list the ingredients necessary for a successful club. Assembling the actual people is fiendishly difficult. There are no guarantees that someone who worked out perfectly in one environment will suit a different one. The people you select must all mesh and be able to work with each other. All I see on here are people with simple solutions to very complex problems. This is not to excuse the disastrous decisions that have brought us to our present calamitous position. It is unforgivable that we are where we are, and those responsible should be ashamed of themselves. Failing to be ultra successful is one thing, but failing totally to build a functional side that can attack and defend to a reasonable standard in a very poor Championship is a completely different thing. Especially given the resources available to them.

Stop the funding and put the club up for sale. Then find something enjoyable to do at the weekends. This must be shit for him too. And it isn't good for the health of anybody associated with the club. So perhaps we all should find something more enjoyable on Saturdays because this is shit.
