I've a nagging feeling we are going to go the same way next week. Really don't want us to but I think we'll lose on Saturday and it'll happen Schumacher needs proper support from the club and the right people higher up who are on the same page, he's not the problem. Jon is part of the problem but he can save himself if he gets the right person to support the manager if he bins Ricky. if he loses saturday that will be 7 lost out of 8 ,managers just don’t survive that kind of stat

It's hard for anyone to make a functional team out of our players, we have to stick by Schumacher whatever may come.

When the fans turn and they have turned he tends to act. I think Martin will be gone very soon. Hope you're right but something tells me John will continue to see the manager as the problem and not Martin Who are you referring to when you specify 'the manager'?

Hope you're right but something tells me John will continue to see the manager as the problem and not Martin I want Schumacher to stay and be given a fair run under a proper set up. The top end of our club has been a shit show for too long. It can't be manager after manager failing it has to be a problem higher up Said that for a couple years now. We've had 6 managers who all have had a good reputation for doing well and have failed big time with us. The "it's the manager" excuse isn't valid anymore. As I said in a previous thread we could have Pep in charge but with our higher ups we'd still be no better off than we are now

Only someone who has the experience of actually managing a football club at a decent level can help the manager/coach succeed.

One thing is for sure, if we'd appointed Cambridge United's boss to come and save us, there'd be uproar. He may or may not save them but, like ours might, the owners have seen fit to roll the dice rather than let the current slide continue. It doesn't look like anything long-term at all and I can only presume they have offered him more money on a short term deal than Cambridge can pay him across a longer contract. It's a very desperate move from all involved. It would depend if the current Cambridge boss had managed us before and averaged 1.5ppg previously at this club and also managed an average of nearly 1.5ppg at this level at another club. Our last manager averaged 1.2ppg and the current manager just 1.0 ppg. In that situation I'd consider Harris quite a considerable upgrade. Let that one sink in!!

I already said which one won't do anything. John. I'd be amazed if he even thinks there is a problem at our club beyond the managers. Clearly the problems goes a lot deeper than the manager or head coach if you wanna call it that. That's clear for all to see. But all signs point to John not seeing it that way

Harris will keep them up no problem. So it's now down to us, QPR or Huddersfield? 'Harris will keep them up no problem' bold prediction no? imo it's 9 teams for two relegation spots (on basis Rotherham are doomed) with 'wall very much in the mix

I broadly agree, but Schumacher had absolutely been a big part of the problem at times recently. His team selections have been awful. There are only so many times he can get away with choosing players that aren’t performing over ones he’s bombed out and lining them up in a formation that never works for us before he loses all the goodwill he has left. It’s all well and good questioning the structure of the club hierarchy but that doesn’t give the manager a free pass. His team selection and tactics against Coventry were absolutely pathetic.

Changing the manager has worked in the past 🤔
We need to stick with him, I'll be gutted if he goes he's been flogged a dead horse and if the rumours are true about all the goings on at the club then I'd say he hasn't had a fair crack at it. It looks like we need relegation to get the monkey off our back

I'm still not convinced Shumacher has picked the last couple of teams, especially the last one. I don't really believe in any of the recent rumours but the potential that Ricky Martin is having a say in team selection is plausible simply for the fact I don't see why Schumacher would change it so drastically so suddenly in the last couple of games. Every chance i'm wrong but I wouldn't put it past Martin to be having a big say in it lately

Unfortunately I believe that Schumacher shat himself and thought that abandoning the principles that have brought him success so far in his career in favour of a safety-first approach was the right thing to do. He showed himself to be good at managing a front-running team at Plymouth but has no experience at all until now of managing a team when things aren’t going to plan and unfortunately I think he’s making a right hash of it.

It looks like we need relegation to get the monkey off our back Why do people keep saying we need a relegation to sort everything out? It's an absolute nonsense. Relegation to the third tier (again) would be absolutely devastating for this club in more ways than one and, under this particular ownership, could take decades to recover from.

Is 97/98 the only time we’ve had 3 managers in 1 season? (Not Including caretakers?)
