Generally I don’t think men ‘get’ female comedians tbh The reasons for that I will leave to the psychologists in the house. But alot of my female friends have quite long lists of female comedians they enjoy, but in my experience it’s rare for blokes to like them equally. It’s a female perspective. No idea about the comedian in question though. I avoid TV comedy but I think Diane Morgan (Cunk) is brilliant and Caroline Aherne was one of the best comedy writers of all time. Caroline Aherne was brilliant and her Mrs Merton creation was superb. Never really got Victoria Wood but no doubting her talent. Both sadly taken too early. Aherne was a talented woman. And strangely foxy as well in my opinion. So sad she died so young 😥 😔

Yes, he’s been really poorly as well this week. Seen him a couple of times, Portsmouth years ago when he was still relatively new and he was absolutely superb, easily one of the best comedian performances I've ever seen. Years later in Cambridge he was still very good but it felt like he'd lost a bit of 'edge' - hopefully he's regained it. His autobiography is outstandingly laugh out loud funny 😄 All comedians should retire at 40 as they're no longer angry (Frankie Boyle) so said Stewart Lee as part of one of his shows! Twas funny! 😉

In terms of modern stand up, I don't think there is anyone really outstanding and it's now harder than ever to push any boundaries. Those that do "try" are the likes of Gervais and Jimmy Carr, who are now complete shadows of what they used to be but still pull certain audiences by being "edgy" when the reality is it's lazy fucking piss!
As far as female stand ups go I can't say I've seen many that appeal to me, but there are plenty of brilliant female characters and performers, like Cunk, Merton etc. I think I saw an Amy Schumer one a few years ago that was alright.
