Considering he’s been injured/barely played, and then dropped into starting in a struggling side, it’s hard to be too critical. You’d think he will only get better with games.
Armstrong for QPR was very impressive, as others have noted.

Worked hard for the team, ran the channels well, not afraid to shoot. 7.5 out of 10 for me.

I liked what I saw. Made some good runs and linked up play well. Played for the manager before so will know what he wants from him and back him in the dressing room. Think he will score goals for us but these days strikers shouldn't be just judged on goals. As you say, he has played for the manager before and knows what he wants, it’s quite obvious that atm the other strikers on our books haven’t bought into the manager’s philosophy of working hard, and that is why he was brought into the squad, he works hard, and I think that he could be a very good player in this league after a good run of games and keeping injury free

1 in 2… works his socks off and hasn’t had a decent ball given to him yet.
Seems a snap shot type of forward and will chip in with goals.
His record is half decent too but let’s right him off now.

My sense is this one won't work out. For 500k, it won't have to go that well to work out ok though. He already seems well worth that. If we stay up, job done He was just a late sticking plaster once the Mmaee thing obviously escalated and he realised Campbell wasn't the answer Next season, those 2 and Wes will be gone and Ennis probably will be the cover. Perfectly suitable as a Campbell replacement, he already seems to be more committed to the cause and willing to get his kit dirty.

I like him, He’s a busy player, always looking for the ball and works very hard. Needs a proper striker to play alongside, and would create space for them. One goal in two games.

Not really suited to a single striker role but did a decent job. As you say he needs a striking partner to get the best out of him.

He looks like he gives a shit, so in the current climate he has my full backing and support. His sharpness will improve as he plays more.

The Blackburn lot thought his touch was atrocious. But then they really didn't see that much of him either Yeah, they saw about as much of him as us, didn't they? It was never something mentioned at Plymouth, albeit at League One. And Schumacher said things bouncing off him at the weekend was unusual for him, and he worked with him for nearly 3 years, so will have seen him more than anyone at Blackburn, especially when he's match fit. He also seemed to be one of the top teenagers when he played for all the England youth teams, and would seem a bit strange if he managed to do that while having a bad touch. For half a mill, if he sees out the season just working as hard as he has done so far and we stay up, he'll be a step up, even if he just becomes a bit of cover next season after the striker clearout. We were obviously scrambling for someone once he knew he had to act on Mmaee and Schumacher realised despite what Campbell was telling him, he couldn't play there either. And in a market where it seemed there were no strikers moving in the Championship, 500k for him seems fine - because without him, we'd be in a right old mess Yes all good points. Blackburn clearly just didn’t work out in any way at all and there’s a whiff of the fans just pinning any fault possible onto him because they perceived him as lazy and unfit. Plymouth fans thought he had a great touch in the box. Hopefully just a prolonged period of rustiness he needs to shake off.. if he can at least be running the channels and keeping defenders busy in the meantime, let’s get him playing a few games.

Once we gat a decent striker in I'd play him wide with Mahoef on the other side.
He can do a job wide for us like Brown did.

Let's be honest, currently this club is a striker's graveyard. The lack of service is criminal and our Cf is expected, it seems, to be able to press, create and then score all on his own.
It's a TEAM game and we need to get the right support for our frontmen, that tends to get sacrificed for the need to cover the defensive frailties. Armstrong did look good for QPR but how much of that was down to our defenders being pretty slow, allowing him to run in behind with ease?
Get Manhoef supplying Ennis and then maybe we can judge how good, or not, he might be

Difficult to judge him on that team performance.
Looks lively, and works hard. Doesn't look like he will score a huge amount, but he is young. 1 goal in 2 games isn't a bad start.

He looks a huge upgrade in attitude to Ryan Mmaee, that's for sure!

I like what I’ve seen so far from him. Nice composed finish at Blackburn & he looks to be positive every time he gets the ball.

He strikes me as a forward version of Darel Russell. Doesn't sound like much of a compliment but it could be worse.
At one point, Sohail praised him for controlling the ball three times in one movement. Which obviously means he also lost control of it at least twice, but never mind!

Didnt watch the game so cant comment. His signing video shows him as someone who is grounded, probably easy to manage, calm and a similar kind of personality as Brown (possibly less driven).
Sounds like a good egg, based upon where we are that seems exactly what we need from a forward.
