1 frustrated when anyone moans about the owners 2 financial support has been unbelievable as has support of every manager 3 now have a bloke who he can't remember hai name is director of football 1. Every manager since relegation has been backed financially. 2. It was completing fitting that TP questioned whether they'd made the right decision in appointing certain people such as the DOF whatever his name his! Tells you everything - RM (or whatever his name is) is completely unmemorable! Made me laugh anyway.

There have plenty of opportunities to phone Pulis to come back.
It never happened. Can someone explain this, because it defies logic?
Since John Coates took over in 2015 we have been on a downward spiral
He's just a rich kid given a toy in a football club who thinks he knows what he's doing.
Sick of his interfering presence and idiotic decisions.

Thought it was interesting what he said about sticking to the same team and not changing it. And it's got to be a team, both off the pitch and on the pitch.
I think that's pertinent. It seems like we haven't had the same team two games running for years now.

Plus we could do a lot worse than get TP back to sort them out!

Your second point, can't argue with that really. But it's probably moot as it seems he just wants enjoy retirement and watch the rugby now.

Playing as a team will enable players to get to understand the strengths of their team mates, what works what doesn’t - help each other out instead of playing a “ trial” game where players may be trying to impress by showing individual skills It doesn’t just happen- needs time and we could do with some more

Stoke played better football and achieved higher league positions under Mark Hughes, until the wheels fell off. 🥴 Those higher positions under Hughes also owed a lot to Pulis. Like someone said in another thread a while back, Hughes added flair to the Pulis spine, which was a great balance, it gave the team a really good chemistry. Once the Pulis spine had left, that's when the wheels fell off. Both managers were great for us I think.

Well, I don't know how old you are but be thankful that you at least got to support this Club in the Prem because of him (If you're indeed old enough to remember that 'cause I'd love to know how many of the youth of today will stick around to support when the Club's languishing in the lower leagues about to go out of business altogether! I started supporting the club in Division 2 and I will support them in League 1. It’s an old fashioned view to want Pulis back, based on old ideas of football. That wasn’t meant to cause offence, we’re all an ode bastard one day. Been there, done that. Football is cyclical. Stoke WILL get promoted at some point in the future and WILL get relegated as well. You can bet your house on it. I support Stoke because, without a doubt, they are the greatest team in the world! No, I am not mad, and clearly the unwavering belief that we are the greatest is not based on our league position, how many goals we score or games we win. IF we are relegated, I look forward to the next promotion. Leicester, Blackburn Rovers - Premier League Winners and where are they now? Looking further back, history is littered with "unbeatable" teams Wolves, Huddersfield, and on and on ..... Give me Stoke any day of the week! Truth be told, I would rather Schumaker, destroy the dressing room, and lose every game for the rest of the season if it meant we would emerge on the other side with a team that wants to give their all for Stoke - The Greatest Team in the World! Changing the manager will accomplish nothing if we still have the same rotten player attitude. Let him sort it out (even at the cost of relegation but hopefully not), then the team can start to move upwards once more! P.S. I've seen people on here saying they'd rather watch lower league football as it's better value and more entertaining - and yet would refuse to watch Stoke if we were in a lower league? Don't get that at all.

It drives me mad that managers don't understand the simple concept of building a team from the back, making sure there is a spine to the side. Having the right mix of characters who will hopefully gel on and off the field. Yes, you need flair and that sometimes comes with a maverick attitude but it's all part of management. I'm no football coach BUT I understand how to put a team together. Some members of that team will respond to different management styles. Panic sets in and then this lot start swapping and changing and nobody knows what they're doing any more and it shows on the pitch. It's really not rocket science to try to steady the ship. I guess thesedays is the added hazard of the Dubs and Ricksters behind the scenes with their ipads at the ready. old skool managers knew who their own targets were to a good extent, knew the background, and as always some will be mistakes but as managers have less say-so you end up with a mish mash that looks good on paper but doesn't fit as a team. Not every player in the side has to be a world beater but the right blend is essential. I don't know how many times i've said this over the years. Anyway, message to SS.. find your preferred starting line-up for whatever reason, don't cut off your nose to spite your face, get them effing organised at the back so the attack feel confident going forward without worrying what's going on behind them and don't keep changing tactics. You now need stability and players understanding the other players around them...oh, and I stand by the fact that I think Tone needs to be back in the house as an experienced mentor or whatever he'd like to called !

Just read the highlights of Pulis' Talksport interview on the Sentinel Sentinel articleThe key line for me: "John (Coates) has backed the manager to bring in players, John and the director of football, whatever his name is. They’ve brought those players in, the manager and the sporting director." I love the sly dig at the 'director of football, whatever his name is' Reading between the lines, it either means: 1. RM is such a useless, no impact, no mark that TP has no clue who he is (very unlikely) 2. TP knows all about RM (and his magic beans, snake oil BS that is rotting the club from the inside) but has publicly critised him in the subtlest way possible 2. Seems much more likely in the context that he knew how many players we brought in during the summer. He loves Stoke and clearly keeps up-to date with how we are doing. It also the mark of class, a professional that he doesn't criticise the Coates family publicly (even though JC definitely deserves criticsm) and is openly backing them in the media. In the interview, he focussed the recruiment problems squarely on RM and Schumacher. Smart and professional interview from TP. The hallmark of quality of manager that we have lacked for years.

He did a great job for us but let’s not get a god complex about him now he? He was never classy and he wasn’t all that professional in many respects.

We didn't piss about with possession stats but we still created a few chances throughout a game. A Pulis team could decide who won the league, we weren't an easy team to beat, we turned over many a good team under Pulis. We boring for 90% of the time though but at least we had highs, nowadays there's very little to be happy about.
