The issue was that we needed an entire squad of players. Foreign signings are always more of a risk as the style and standard of football is different in different countries. Ryan Mmaee probably looked great in a league that was less physical, where he had time to do all his fancy little backheels. Bring him over here with a hairy-arsed centreback kicking him for 90 minutes and he hasn't fancied a minute of it. If you've already got a solid base to work from, you can afford to take a gamble or two on players like him and see if they're better than what you've already got. However, when you've not even got a starting XI, it's a bad idea to recruit virtually an entire squad from the obscurest corners of Europe and hope they somehow meld together into something cohesive. Next season, especially if we go down, I'd concentrate on building a side from the best players in League One and even League Two, signed specifically to play roles in a particular system. Spot on mate

I think the jury is still very much out on Junho. He was dreadful today. Still not scored or assisted all season and he’s the one we are pinning our hopes on for creativity. Bloody love junho think next season if he is still here, he will be our best player or one of them. Me too, but we have to face facts at some point. He looks a good player but he hasn’t delivered so far. Unpopular opinion I know.

So...the British recruiters have failed (this time). Time to put a foreigner in charge of recruitment and/or director of football then?
Huth, Bojan or Sørensen? Or someone we don't know, but who knows football and how to find quality.

Yet Ben Pearson is probably the worst culprit sat on his 4 year contract that will see him through to retirement. Blame the foreign lads though. We were all desperate for Ben Pearson to sign in the summer but all of a sudden he’s become the whipping boy for a lot on here.Yes I agree he hasn’t been nothing like since he signed permanently but for me he should be sat in front of the back four week in week out at the moment and not just 45 minutes at home to Leicester Not "all". Some warned against giving him the 4-year contract.

Ah, the old 'Those foreign lads are soft' argument.
Was far better in TP's days when he, er, played non-Brits like Tommy Sorensen, Rob Huth, Abdoulaye Faye, Ricardo Fuller, Asmir Begovic, Mama Sidibe etc rather than playing those ace UK lads like, er, Tom Soares, Dave Kitson, Michael Tonge, Matthew Lund, Lewis Buxton, Andrew Davies....

What has really failed is the departure of so many stalwarts at the end of last season - they might have had poor spells but they knew the club and the standard that was expected - and the experiment bringing in of so many new players at the same time with no real plan of how to turn them into a workable unit.

Didn’t the non brits you name there all have extensive experience of English football? We have gathered a bunch of prima Donna’s from far and wide mostly with no experience of english football, and the stats gave no indication whether they would be able to cope with the relentless Championship, or whether they would have the character for the battle. Nobody seems to have given a thought to that aspect when they drew up the stats checklist.

No sure you can put it on the foreign players Burger and Bae easily the bestof the Bunch , I think the experienced core players Pearson,Johnson,Rose shocking, Hoever disappointing. Mcnally Wesley Gooch Clarke not been good enough. Leris and. Vidigal were cheap options, both can do OK in a team with a strong spine, not getting a permanent keeper and a strong leader at the back is just disgusting in my view.
