But let’s be clear, that wasn’t great today. Having said that, I don’t think the championship will have a team that good in it for a while.
So, how do we get out of where we are?
I’ve no idea what’s gone on with Mmaee, but there’s no way we can get to the end of the season and stay up and score enough goals with an uncommitted Campbell, Ennis fitness concerns, Lowe’s inexperience and Wesley absence PLUS whatever is going on with Mmaee irrespective of what’s gone on and your opinion of him.
Hard to drag the manager over coals when we don’t know the true extent of what’s gone on.
He absolutely needs to sort the defence out. That includes dropping Hoever and hopefully getting Steven’s fit and play Junior for fuck sake
Pearson can fuck himself. We have to play Bae, Burger and one other. I’d say Baker, but I think it’d leave us way too open.
Hopefully million is just that, one in a million and can help drag us up the pitch and be a decent ball carrier, as everyone we have is shit scared of it. I’m hopeful his pace will create space for the midfield and forwards or at least teams double up on him to create space.
Surely we’ve got enough to get out of this and Sunderland was a poor game (which happens) and today was a freak result and shouldn’t define our season.
We do need to start picking up some wins though.
Steve, stick to your guns don’t fall into the trap of every manager here who falls under pressure, shits themselves and goes against everything they know. Stop worrying about the opposition and figure out ways you can create opportunities with the players we’ve got to hurt opposition teams.

People need to calm down. We played a team that punish today and unfortunately we lost the game in the first half with a poor decision and then poor defending. We've more than enough to stay up and I'd bet we'll finish about Plymouth this season.
Next Week:
Iverson Junior Rose McNally Gooch Burger Cundle Bae Million Ennis Campbell
Strong side that is. If Ty isn't interested then pop Haks/Vidigal there instead.

I think I’d play Thompson for abit more bite in midfield, then look to bring Cundle on for Bae if we’re winning or Thompson if we’re not.

He's a lazy cart horse. Fat and lazy in fact

Million and junior could make a massive difference. We’ve all played football, and when I was playing 5 a side and you picked teams, iif you’re getting battered and they say let’s swap one player to try even up the game, it can only take one best player to drag the others with him to a better level and turn it around.
That defence and keeper will feel better having junior there, no doubt.
If million is a spark that drives forward and is fearless and a threat, others around him up front will get a lift. The whole team can get a lift.
That’s a positive spin on it. Hopefully it plays out. Confidence, confidence, confidence is the key, and that comes with getting results

Yep, calming down is a must.
I thought it was a shit team selection but understand why after a couple of iffy results - clearly didn’t want to get battered.
At half time I thought we were unlucky to be 2 down - we were also playing the ref - the free kick that led to the goal was a great tackle, not a free kick, and then an unlucky deflection off Pearson that wrong-footed Bonham. Every challenge we made was a free kick and a yellow, they are a great team anyway, but absolutely everything went for them as well.
However, that 2nd half was like a fucking fever-dream. Bizarre subs, bizarre positions. Lowe at right wing, Vidi at wing back, then central - just bizarre and frankly inexplicable.
Total brainfart today from SS but to be discussing his tenure at this stage is beyond mental.

Let's face it we are a lower half championship team. As our finishes have suggested over the last couple of seasons.
We seem to be in a better place with this new manager than AN.
He will get it right, I truly believe he will.

I'd play Sol Sidibe ahead of Cundle. Good shout.. I guarantee it won't happen though.. Cundle is to Schumacher as Allen was to every Stoke manager he played under.

Ty has never been interested why would he next week? Shop window Yeah so he should be busting a gut for a new club. But he's that entitled and lazy that even now he still can't be arsed. Always reacts 2 seconds late, does no graft. He's a shit house who needs putting into the under 16s to shame him.

We're shipping goals for fun with an atrocious defence, and have scored 11 goals in our last 15 home games. The apathy and happy clapping at this club is laughable.

It's beyond a joke now. We've been in steady decline for 7(?) years and it's trajectory that will end in disaster. We should have all stayed behind and booed the fuck full blast out of players manager and board. What the cluck we/they do about it I've no idea.

I really hope that he hasn’t lost the dressing room already and that we manage to put together a decent performance.

Two massive games coming up as well, Blackburn away who are in awful form, then QPR at home who have found some form recently. Lose those two and given the way it’s been going, that’s what I can see happening, and we are seriously in trouble. After that it’s Coventry and Cardiff left in February, and March looks extremely tough. I won’t be surprised if we go down, there are no goals in this team, and it’s the worst defence I’ve ever seen for Stoke.

People are seemingly just sitting, waiting, for things to turn around. However long that takes. The fact is, if that hasn't happened in say, 7 or 8 games time, we'll be staring down the barrel of Morecambe at home, first game of the 24/25 season, in August. That's no exaggeration. There are currently no redeeming factors. Not a single one.
