That initial fee is probably used to pay off the difference in contract years Ennis had too.

Remember thinking that about that tool Jesé when he scored against Arsenal and look how that turned out… He was a bit of a bollox though with all his rap nonsense etc Who knows, he could have kept us up if taken than pen though We'll never know His rap music surprisingly turned out better than his football though which is the worrying thing.

Is he competition for Mmaee/Campbell through the middle or is he more of a wide forward?

You've gotta hand it to FullerMagicHis effort and due diligence is off the scale. We could literally be signing my Nan, and within hours he'd have enough evidence, YouTube clips, Twitter reports and other data to get me genuinely excited that she could be the greatest signing of all time.... ...and she's been dead 10 years. I actually think FM should be employed by the club in some capacity. Ridiculously good research skills !!

Really not sure what we are doing on this one. The approach since last summer seems to be to chuck small transfer fees around on lots of players and hope some come good? Like a Thomas Assante type signing. Difference is that Thomas Assante was on the way up, not having just failed at a club, when WBA signed him

At the fee, with SS knowing him, it's a good punt in January, where you get precious little value for money.

Like a Thomas Assante type signing. Difference is that Thomas Assante was on the way up, not having just failed at a club, when WBA signed him The way I look at it is this: Gayle has gone. Wesley and Campbell going in the summer. Got to think there will be a good chance Mmaee will move in too. That gives us the opportunity to sign a marquee striker in the summer and will have also opened up a wildcard slot. It’s too difficult to do in January plus no wildcard option. But we will still need back up to the new striker. Ennis is cheap and offers some of the qualities we are missing (particularly pace)Schuey knows him and no doubt knows there is a quality player in there who struggles to stay fit. For a low fee and wages he’s worth a punt as a squad player. If he can get some games in him in this second half of the season, he could be up and running fully for pre season ready to push on. In the meantime we’ve got another option up front who might actually be able to find the back of the net. If you look at him purely as a low cost squad player, it looks fine. The key of course is getting the big striker signing on the summer right. I think Mmaee has good quality (despite the sitters he missed last couple of games) so we were on the right tracks. But ultimately I don’t think he’s got the work rate you need for Schumacher’s system.

Absolutely fine with this, especially with Gayle going out the door.
He played well under Super Steve so isn't coming in as an 'unknown quanitity' just a few questions over fitness.
He has time on his side unlike Gayle who lost his shooting boots. And will be a much smaller dent in the FFP wage packet.
Good business and if he rediscovers his previous form at Plymouth that earned him the move to Blackburn the team deserve congratulating.

Are you saying we sign unfit players who then have to miss a number of games before they are up to speed.

For me this actually feels like progress. We've signed a player that can actually play the way the manager wants to and we know it before a ball has been kicked. Completely agree. 70 minutes of a striker that can play the role the manager wants until he gets up to speed is better than 90 minutes of a square peg in a round hole........

If we press and play like we did against Brighton in the first 60 minutes we can definitely get something, whether we can do that for 90 minutes is a other story.......

At worst I think his pace pushes the opposition back, meaning we can either give the midfield some extra space to operate or we can step up and keep them as far away from our goal as possible. I’m really starting to warm to the idea of the back 3, especially if Million started out as a leftback.

Leicester like to dominate possession anyway so think we might be playing on the break regardless

Depends, if we're as wide open and naive as we were at Sunderland then we're there to be ripped apart. Fine line between giving it a go and leaving yourself exposed.
