Smith got more goals and assists. Did Sterling actually manage to get an assist in the 26 games he played? I would have him back though. I think he could add that to his game and would look good on the left with Junior on the right. Sterling stopped attacks, Smith most definitely didn't I his own area he was no better at defending than Hoever 😮

Stein played 176 games before moving to us scoring 42 goals in his career, hardly proven pedigree mate. Sheron played 133 and scored 27 again not proven pedigree. If fact I would say they are similar to Ennis Stein and Sheron broke through as top flight players when they were young, and scored quite a few goals there before losing their way. Ennis hasn’t played in the top flight or scored a single goal above League One has he? Think you might be right Squire..Best is played 11 for Blackburn this season. No goals. Perfect fit for us..The team that is crying out for a goal scoring striker. Sniff of Berahino...

Sterling was an out and out defender and very good in one v one's but offered very little going forward. Smith was the opposite, a decent wingback with good delivery but an awful defender and a complete liability in a back four.

He's a bit rash in the tackle. I can see him giving a few pens away but hopefully he'll learn as he's got all the tools.

Yeah that's fair but his positionibg is good, he doesn't ballwatch/sees the danger and he's strong so isn't going to get knocked over Given his age surprised how switched on he is but yes he is going to get some tackles wrong

158 games 37 goals, no thank you. He will be just another one passing through.

True, but they aren't going to let him go for nothing, are they? It's possible isn't it, he's clearly as wanted as a fart in a spacesuit. He'll be extremely hard to shift on that length of contract otherwise.

A very promising young player with attributes to improve but a lot to work on. Junior and Thompson would be a heck of a bold fullback pairing

However, this is about Ennis, so I’ll leave it at that bud.

First goal at Leicester away on him. At Watford, great going forward, caught out in defence several times. A very promising young player but a risk in the tackle and needs work on positioning. Him and Thompson would be bold to reckless full back pairing

Welcome Niall. A useful addition. I’d imagine initially he’ll be on the bench. 2.5 year contract for an undisclosed fee. Interesting that his comments suggests SS was a big factor for him joining.

Didn’t Berahino’s mum live in Stafford? I’m sure this Ennis bloke will do better than SB at a tiny fraction of the cost! Looks to have a bit of pace and power about him, The Stone link makes me think of Stan Collymore. Knew he started at Stafford Rangers but discovered recently that he was born in Tittensor. We missed out not picking him up! When talking about Stoke in the PL days he often made reference to it being in Staffs / God’s country.

www.stokecityfc.com/news/2024/february/01/potters-sign-striker-niall-ennis/“My mum lives in Stone so I know the area well. I know how big a club I am joining and how passionate a fanbase we have. “Playing for Steven again is also a big thing for me. I played the best football of my career under the gaffer. “The systems he plays and the way he approaches matches is best suited to getting the best out of me. “I can’t wait to kick-off that relationship again and to start giving my best for Stoke City.”
