Basically... Stinking rich guy who was born around the corner has a few spare million and wants to put it into his boyhood club. Nothing wrong with that at all imo and if they do get a documentary it will do wonders for the local area. Look at what it's done for Wrexham! Nobody can tell me after watching the Black Country derby the other day it doesn't make you crave a Potteries derby again Absolutely... Some folk just can't get into their head that it's a local football club with friends, family and others associated with it. My own mantra is... as long as the Vale are below us in league placings then what's the problem. As long as the dickheads refrain from violence and intimidation I would love a local derby again.

I wouldn't hold your breath mate. I mean look at how the animals react after a penalty is given against them 😅

Last week A teacher in Burslem asked her class, 'What football team do you support, raise your hand if it's Port vale The whole class raised their hand except one boy "John what team do you support? "STOKE CITY the boy replies. "Why" says teacher. "Because my mum and dad do, so I do too" "Well you don't have to copy mum and dad, what if your mum was a prostitute and your dad was a smackhead"? John replies "Then I'd support Port vale like the rest of you scruffy bastards"

They can get it in their heads but perhaps just aren't that interested in another club

It’s a local derby, sure, and all that comes with that. The reason people find it less than desirable is that we really shouldn’t ever be in the same division as them. If we’re in the position of playing regular league games against them, by definition we’re in a shitty period in our history, while they are over-performing. So for them, what’s not to like? Playing at a high level, getting regular chances to bloody the nose of their bigger neighbour. For us, yeah maybe we get some high-octane derbies but there’s always going to be a feeling of being reduced to scrubbing around in the lower echelons if we’re having to play that lot on a regular basis. So while I did enjoy the fierce 90s rivalry and the electric atmospheres etc I certainly hope we never have to play them in the league again - frankly we’re above it, or we should be.
