As I’ve got older my taste has definately become more conservative in colour but I still like to think I’m “trendy” but love to keep up to date with current fashion. What products and brands does everyone else use. Aftershave - Diesel / Hermes. A lot of people rave about Creed but a bit too much for me price wise. Hair product - my hairs quite fine so I use wax Deodarent - Still love Lynx Bath or shower - I don’t do showers unless I’m away and have no choice beard or clean shaven - Stubble but use an electric razor moisturiser - don’t use them but do have the odd facial every 3-6 months Haircut - once every 4 weeks Any other products you could recommend? Boxers - Hackett or Crew clothing Socks - Crew clothing (always find they last and are great quality) Jeans - Diesel T Shirts - Paul Smith Suits - Paul Smith / D & G / Twisted Tailor Coats - Diesel or Superdry Shoes - Paul Smith Trainers - Diesel or Under armour Gym gear - Nike In relation to the more expensive items like suits, coats and shoes I always go on ebay it’s amazing how cheap you can buy secondhand or something that’s got a slight defect. I’d never buy a D and G suit because they’re touching a grand but I got a beauty for 75 pounds that was nearly new and just needed a very minor repair down the dry cleaners to an inside pocket. I always find wearing something nice makes me feel better about myself (must be a confidence thing).

I've gone the other way from Boss and Armani to looking like a tramp on occasions. I only make an effort these days to save the embarrassment of the kids and friends Ralph Loren is my friend so I never smell so bad

Just be yourself, stop being a slave to labels Fair point but I think you can be yourself but have favourite brands it’s a bit like Coke or Pepsi (Pepsi for me) or McDonalds or Burger king. It’s not about status or money it’s about style (designers you like) and personal taste.

Man at M&S here (mostly). Do like the quality of White Stuff and there's a Fatface shop in the village that gets an occasional visit. Has to be a Mach 3 razor though.

In relation to suits I don’t get how anyone could pay upwards of 300 pounds if you can buy one that’s it’s equivalent for 50 quid that’s been worn twice. No sods going to know you’ve had it second hand especially if you have a good dry cleaner.

Tom Ford Noir. I had a bottle some years ago and lost it, never replaced it because it’s a more expensive one. Anyway I was walking through the airport last week and got myself a taster. I instantly felt great about myself, it’s a heavenly scent and other people actually notice it on you so I thought fuck it, worth every penny.

Sadly no need for hair products 😢 😭 Still wearing clothes from 20 years ago in some instances. Clothes shop once a year at TK Maxx to top up the wardrobe. Socks and pants always xmas gifts from the Mrs. Brut, posh glass bottle from the supermarket 4.99. I own 3 suits all from way back when but that'll do as I rarely wear them other than formal doos. Trainers, whatever takes my fancy when I see a pair. I do however like spending money on a nice coat so always push the boat out a bit and get a decent designer make like a belstaff or something.

I still like to be as untrendy as it's possible to be. I hate to keep up to date with current fashion. I think it has to do with upbringing perhaps. I don't want anyone to tell me what to wear. I have never bought anything I've seen in a commercial.
My old man used to say "klädesbög" (clothing fag) about someone if he was dressed up nicely and was not on his way to a funeral or something, especially if there were loafers with tassels involved.
Aftershave - stopped using them 35 years ago. Back then it was Yves Saint Laurent Hair product - Cien vitamine pro and Silicea shampoos Deodorent - Urtekram neutral Bath or shower - showers Beard or clean shaven - clean shaven Moisturiser - Loctobase Haircut - once every 10 weeks Boxers - Spite, Panos Emporio Socks - Doctor recommends Jeans - HM, Wrangler (11MWZ) T Shirts - Take off Suits - HM, Joy Boy Coats - Camel Shoes - Rockport, Senator Trainers - Hummel, Reebook, Bagheera Gym gear - Wyte, Take off Shirts - Camargue, Joy Boy Wool Sweater - Emilio, Vailent Cotton Sweater - Blue print, Joy boy Pike shirts - North bend, Fred Perry Jacket - Adam, Jack & Jones, Molltan Umbrella - Samsonite
I have never bought anything in a second hand shop, including clothing. It's not that I have something against them, I visit them occasionally, but it always seems to be the wrong size. I do buy clothes on sales and at outlets, seldom at full price.
I have never felt wearing something nice makes me feel better about myself. I don't need to alter my self confidence.

I tend to try and buy environmentally, the quality seems better and lasts longer and some have a lifetime guarantee.
Nudie Jeans, (can send off for repairs or alterations) Finisterre (send back once finished with) Patagonia
But quite a bit is spent on running shoes and gear
Clean shaven, I don't do after shave. Undies are Dare to Wear or Comfy balls. Buy a bit of BAM bamboo stuff

With you on Tom Ford. It's one of my 2 "go to" fragrances along with Viktor & Rolf I don’t mean to be uncouth but the stuff is like pollen to a bee with the ladies. True although with me they tend to go for just the scent rather than the person wearing it 😂 As you say, they're pricey options but that's because they use far higher quality fixatives, so you don't need to spray anywhere near as much as other fragrances and the scent lasts far longer on the skin.

The thing I’ve looked for most in clothing has been environmental footprint and manufacturing. I used to buy a lot of clothes but now I have tried to embrace the idea of slow fashion. I personally hate that you can buy clothes so cheaply: the material is often poor and the workers get shafted on pay. I also hate that some companies cotton on to that and talk about “slow fashion” when still screwing the working (and consumer). I have some designer clothes but most of my clothes are just non-descript from various retailers who seem to care about their clothing.
An exception to that has been running shoes, as I burn through the grip so quickly. I buy Brooks for running shoes, the same GTS adrenaline I’ve done for years. To slow down their damage, I am more strict now on only taking them out to run in.

Bath or shower - Shower of course. Bath is a luxury these days. Aftershave - Prada Amber pour homme is my favourite - Calvin Klein or Zara for my daily stink beard or clean shaven - Beard since lockdown. Currently having to send back another beard trimmer, they all seem to be so poorly made. Recommendations welcome. moisturiser - Every day since I was 19 ish, mainly with a light, factor 15 sun tan lotion. couldn't manage without it. Haircut - once every 4 weeks including eyebrows, very rarely have 3 decent haircuts on the bounce despite using the same barber. Best haircut I ever had was in Turkey in June for a tenner. Bit far to go though :-( Boxers - French Connection - M&M direct specials Socks - Farah Jeans - Hollister or Jack&Jones (v.underrated for jeans), always slim fit. T Shirts - Levis, Timberland, All Saints. Nothing with a slogan on them. Shirts - mainly plain overshirts, TK Maxx are great for them (both online and instore) Suits - don't really wear them Coats - Barbour wax jacket, Hollister parka for cold days. Shoes - mainly brown leather boots Trainers - Adidas mainly however, I'm finding the soles wear out really quickly. Have switched to Nike recently. Gym gear - fucks that? Don't think I've owned a pair of jogging bottoms as an adult

Aftershave - Aqua Di Parma Hair product - Malin & Goetz Dark Rum shampoo/shower gel Deodarent - Salt of the earth Bath or shower - Usually the shower being at the gym 4 or 5 days a week. beard or clean shaven - Beardish, just whack the trimmer over it when I'm in the gym. moisturiser - not really Haircut - Steve's on Oxford Street. £5 every 6 weeks. Any other products you could recommend? Boxers - John Lewis Socks - Anything Merino or alpaca at the moment. Jeans - Paul Smith, Cords & Co T Shirts - Where to start - Trickett, AOF, Paul Smith mainly. Suits - Not really. Barbour shirts and Barbour or Carhartt trousers for work. Trojan safety rigger boots too. Coats - Paramo, Rab, Jack Wolfskin tend to be multi-functional Shoes - Chatham Trainers - Nike, Salewa, Puma Gym gear - any old crap but usually Adidas and under armour. Walking boots - Aku, Inov-8. Walking clothes - Jack Wolfskin waterproof trousers (perfection for my fit), Artilect, Aclima - anything natural and breathable most of the time. Slobbing gear - Odlo, Aclima.
I tend to try and find the bargains and make them last, they're not cheap either way but I buy it to last and avoid made in China/Bangladesh/India as much as is possible.
The Paramo eBay shop is pretty good for anyone into seconds/refurbished good quality kit. Alpkit shops will repair a lot of your existing outdoor gear too.
