Don't take the job then if you can't do it. Let's be clear Rowett chose those players and wasn't man enough for the job.

Fair enough comments there. He takes some of the blame in a round a bout way whilst firmly confirming that the club overall had been badly managed. Sounds about right I reckon.

Totally incompetent 'manager' incapable of doing the job he was paid for.
Excuses excuses.

Rowett is a far better coach than manager. He’s better when he doesn’t hold the purse strings and works with players rather than identifying and being responsible for buying them. His football is still shit though!

£25m double deal?
I wonder who that was? Possibly Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle at Newcastle?

His main failing was the same as Hughes; he brought in defenders who could not defend.
In Rowett's two past it useless players from Everton.
The players he brought in who cost the money were not worth the money paid. The clubs that sold them to us must have been delighted.

Ince, Afobe, and Maclean cost us nearly £30m. On what planet were those three going to score the goals to get us back into the premier league?

He admitted he acted a bit hot headed at one point alienating the fans with what he said, with is what really got him sacked, not his turgid football.

I really couldn't give a crap about players wanted to leave. Any club spending 50 million in Championship needs to win the league in a ridiculous fashion.

He didn't just waste £50m on terrible signings, any sensible manager would see that Bojan Diouf Crouch should be an excellent tro for the Championship but he decided to not use them
Cuco Martina and Ashley Williams were shocking signings too and they didn't cost
What also fucked us over was Scholes decision to do away with win bonuses
No wonder we had a record number of draws (22 was it?)
Can't remember now but other than Potter who else was in the frame that summer?

I think he speaks quite well. Didn’t work out with us but I think he’s a good coach.
Started listening to his podcast this afternoon, also a good listen.

I think he made a bad situation even worse. But I imagine he got a shock when he found out that the players he inherited weren't as committed as the owners to getting back up. And they were quite happy to see out their contracts without playing for us.I'm sure the attitude displayed only made his job even more difficult. MON remarked on certain players not really wanting to play for us, when he took over.

No, No, No, you can't fool me, I REMEMBER this guy. He left a toxic-spill that's taken years to clean up financially and psychologically. Turgid football. Didn't use the right personnel, subs made no sense, routinely out-coached and a blame-deflector. And to top it off, was a egotistical hotheaded bellend during his time here. (Should have been a great fit at Millwall) Had a majority of our fan-base wanting to slap his jowels. Yes I remember it.
He may have had a "road to Damascus" experience since then, OK fine. But he's the poster-child of why we need to move on once a manager leaves here. Bridge blown.
