Club were close to closing the south stand a few years back due to the trouble. We are a bit fragmented at the moment though.

Fair point. I’d rather see away fans away from The pitch across the back of the south stand with home fans over having the corner. Yes it would leave more space but filling in around the ground would be much better. To be re-looked at should we need the seats

It doesn’t work.
You can barely hear either the south stand or the Boothen where I sit about half way between the two.
And then when you do hear them, they’re a second or two out of sync.
Definitely would improve the atmosphere to shut the south stand for home fans.

Much better in the south stand, I like my seat there, and some actual atmosphere is generated, it’s a sad sight to see the boothen half empty
But to talk of shutting a whole area of the ground because some people don’t like it is just madness

Definitely would improve the atmosphere to shut the south stand for home fans. Bloody wouldn’t. I’ve stood there since 2008. Problem is the last year or so is all those tossers from block 19 have come over from the boothen to be close to the away fans and been a right load of little pillocks and most have been chucked out now and banned, probably around 30 of them. The singing and atmosphere in there has always been good. We give the away fans some they give it back. I’d hate to go sit anywhere else in the ground now

Just needs a bit of banter between the 2 ends, Boothen give us a song, south stand give us a song, etc.

Just needs a bit of banter between the 2 ends, Boothen give us a song, south stand give us a song, etc. Those days are long gone. You get three oh when the reds and four out of sync delilahs if you’re lucky. We need a proper singing section in the south stand corner like celtic have done. All guns blazing. Get the youngsters in there actually enjoying themselves. Who organised the vis unita 1863 movement and was it covid that killed it? Lets not kid ourselves. Our home atmosphere is absolutely tepid at best. You could only hear the away fans yesterday until we scored.

The atmosphere sounded horrendous in the first half and even when we scored the first to go one up it was tepid, you could hear the players shouting on the pitch. Our home atmosphere is bad and yes there can be one or two good "oh when the reds" and the odd "Delilah" but that's it. I'm not sure what the solution is but getting more youngsters in is the best I can think of.

The club need to be completely on board too though. The Germans and Dutch take it to the extreme. Even attending training matches so the fans can practice. It would be great to see younger Stoke generation’s taking it upon themselves to do the same with similar passion. It’s a hobby / movement or should be.

They should have dropped the price significantly per ticket to £10 per adult and opened up the entire ground. Get the ground filled against a premier league opposition for a cup game, instead of giving most of the south stand to the away supporters and shut half the stadium to home supporters making borderline a neutral venue.

Vis unita fortior. United strength is stronger.
Unfortunately it'll never happen. The block 19 kiddies wrecked the boothen with their high speed squeals now their doing the same in the south.
Until the younger generation step up and take on the mantle of chief singers it'll never happen.. jumping up and down with your arms in air in the concourse doesn't do it I'm afraid.
Us oldies had our days creating the atmosphere, the macari days were great atmosphere. 1st year back in the prem excellent, but that was 15 yrs ago and today's youth were still sat in the family section with their mom and dad's, it's over to you lot now, time you stepped up.

With crowds how they are it’s diluted and you can’t hear either set of fans properly. It doesn’t work.

The youth club in the stand, most came from the boothen and have mostly been banned for 3 years spoiled what was good in the prem years on the divide. Throwing bottles and stuff at away fans, not even watching the game but looking at the away fans, acting like little ten men.
Slowly getting back to what it used to be like again now.
When we can hear the boothen the south stand always join in with what they’re singing.
The way to improve the atmosphere? Winning football simple as that

I do think that if we get more exciting and attacking football the atmosphere will improve. The 2 go hand and in hand
Hopefully Schumachers brand of football will achieve this

In the end we need to get in contention for something and the atmosphere will fix itself.
This is the 6th season in a row which was dead in the water at the turn of the year, nothing to play for. The annual early FA Cup exit yesterday was the final nail in the coffin of this season and with it went the final chance of any atmosphere.
There is no need to over think this thing.

We just need a big fuck off drum and some ultras banners. Oatcake ultras. When we’re playing psg we need to beat them off the pitch too.

Bit of success and the atmosphere improves. Simple.

Thought the atmosphere was very good today (after we scored).I stayed in rhe Holiday Inn last night full of stuck up Brighton fans but they thought the noise from the Boothen was great for most of the match.

Biggest fuck up was filling that corner in. Amongst other things that got us relegated.

The out of sync stuff always cracks me up..it's so bad 😂
Bayern is right when you sit in between the Boothen and the south stand you can barely hear either and when you do they are both basically singing Delilah to eachother at a pointlessly fast pace..completely out of sync

Which is great for them but it really does make the atmosphere much worse overall. Better football and bigger crowds would obviously help and actually we might see a glimmer of that coming. But if the crowds stay where they are then the board seriously need to consider shutting the south stand for Stoke fans. Would save on costs, improve atmosphere and would just be better overall.

Bollocks. You move bloody seat. Shut the south stand to suite your idea of creating a better atmosphere. This has to be the stupidest thing I can remember seeing on this board. You want to shut down a stand that fans have had their season tickets for about 15 years? Not on my watch. A stand that never stops singing. A stand that players after the game always stop in front of to clap. If we’re going down that route how about we shut the other two stands and just leave the boothen and south stand open? The fans that go in there and can’t fit in the two remaining stands behind the goal can then stay at home as those two stands don’t make a peep anyway. Do you know how daft that sounds?
