We have been given a footballing masterclass from a far superior team today. It just shows how far we have to go. The ball was their friend to us it was a red hot potato. When Brighton were promoted to PL in 2017 many, including me, raised eyebrows in a wtf moment. But they have done very well in a similar fashion that we did in PL but for us to now be given a masterclass lesson demonstrates just how far we have fallen.

I think that's a little harsh on us actually. Of course, I understand that. It is only my opinion but I tell it how I see it. When we were relegated we were on a par with Brighton since then we have gone in polar opposite directions. Hence what you saw today.

Good game and it is never going to be boring with Schumacher.
Iversen looked rusty and his kicking is absolutely woeful but I have seen enough to know he will be a good keeper.
Jun-Ho could have played for Brighton. His drifting runs are amazing and unfortunately half our team aren't on his wave length.
Joa Pedro was absolutely quality.
McNally was abysmal, we need a CB.
Johnson is added to the list of players up for sale. He plays as a midfielder or nowhere and he seems to be about 9th choice.
Think we can officially put Maee as a 10 behind a striker in the bin.
Crying out for pace.
Final ball needs to better.
I think we will see more players leave than we think.
Overall good game to watch and Shumacher, even in defeat, passes with flying colours again.

Do you think today's game will help the head coach decide which players that don't have a future at Stoke. I hope the likes of Johnson, Gayle, Wesley and Baker are moved on. Maybe sell Campbell if we can get a good fee.

As I now wind my way back to the south coast I’ve tried not to read any other input to influence my thinking .
For me it was an absolutely horrific afternoon illustrating just what an appallingly run football club we have become . Platitudes of how good Brighton are mean nothing , one team had had £330 m invested in it over the last 10 years and it wasn’t Brighton . iverson’s performance for goal 2 and 3 summed up the appalling state of our recruitment , another one of the endless line of replacing an issue with a bigger one , while the geriatric disinterested. Preston reject masquerading as a left wing back was as pathetic as one of Ricky Martins deluded monologues.
28 players in the summer and only one Burgur has any material value ,.Brightons organisation , fitness and recruitment today was a complete humiliation . The attitude of the two front subs candidly said it all bone idol, clueless or both and the rumours about attitude of some of the new signings clearly confirmed.
I saw Real Madrid a few years ago play a championship team pre season and the gulf today was as wide but all those years ago the chasm could be attributed to resources today it’s down to abject incompetence.
Tonight should see the utterly absurd martin and Jared dismissed when the hire idea of a better keeper is do ruthlessly exposed , before they inflict further damage, just what nonsense is in that January window slide deck one can barely imagine , can they do worse than Wesley , vidigal, and Johnson etc etc but it clearly won’t . A desperate relegation battle awaits and candidly it’s likely to be the first of many .
For Steven I really fear he’s surrounded by abject squander and incompetence and has a squad of players that are abject , reduced to replacing the criminally poor Johnson with a lad that was jettisoned by the Vale. it was a utterly dispiriting and humiliating afternoon and our only hope is thats what it’s recognised as rather then a valiant effort against the mighty Brighton .Because until we do recognise just how shit everything is about our fotball operation top to bottom the tail spin will just gather momentum and clubs of lesser resource or equal will continue to widen the gulf between us .
Abjectly miserable way to spend a Saturday 450 miles for a humiliation that perfectly captured everything that’s so poor about our football operation .

A tip for future posts; I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but, if you can't express a cohesive thought, spell, use punctuation or grammar properly, you should try limit yourself to short sentences with primarily one syllable words. Better still, you should just cut and paste your single overriding theme from your posts of the last 20 years ...... "We are going to be relegated.". Much quicker, simpler, and you can prove that you have been right........once.

I’m sure you’ve predicted a relegation battle every season. We haven’t been in one yet. Even after the NJ debacle, MON had us well clear by the end of the season. Brighton are one of the best teams in the country. They won their Europa League group and could go far in that competition. They are indeed, mighty. Pedro alone cost 3-4x more than our entire squad. So, there is definitely a difference in resources.

Even though we don't get many I was surprised that there had to be a debate about who was going to take the penalty. Surely there should be a designated pen taker.
Relieved that Baker eventually took it.
However a debate/dispute like this could easily unnerve a player prior to the kick and even potentially cause I'll feeling between players and within the squad. Especially if it is missed!⚓
