Getting Travers back would be a mistake unless it’s permanent. What’s the point in making the same mistake twice, Bmouth could just nab him back again if they have injuries. A centre forward or who can stand up would be good. A CB like Tuanzabe( fit version)

Burger I think can be a great CH pulling the ball out. The wingback Thomson and Gooch are fillers but solid. Midfield is a good champ mid with those 3 and well Campbell and Mmae, it's all we have. Think it looks half decent. The wasters are not in it anyway Jordan Thompson at wingback was horrendous mate Think he was really solid at fullback though.

Are people picking Campbell due to their confidence he can change things positively or just because we're running out of options and they don't know who else to name? I think it's based on the fact that he's scored more goals (probably) than the rest of them put together...he has the potential to create or score the odd goal. On that basis he needs to be in any starting 11 (it just shows how shit we are up front) Baker has a better strike rate than Campbell but prefer Campbell on the right , does more than score. Yet to reach 30 goals for us but hardly many goals in the rest of the team

4-2-3-1 Bonham Tchamadeu McNally Wilmot Stevens Burger Pearson Campbell Junho Haksabanovic Wesley Fair play to you for continuing in your role as #1 cheerleader for Wesley. He has not exactly brought the samba to Stoke with zero goals and limited appearances. However I do see where you are coming from, throw him in to the fray in some kind of battering ram role where others can pick up the pieces and at the same time hope an odd goal might bounce in off his arse. Its not like anything else is working is it? I wonder how Wesley is in his head though? He earns a £22 million dream move to current Premier League leaders Aston Villa, sustains a serious injury which side lines him for an eternity and returns to find he is surplus to requirement at Villa. Stoke convince him this is the perfect place to come to get involved in a promotion drive and kick start his career. And 5 months later he finds he without a starting place, without a goal and in a team caught in a relegation battle. If he is mentally up to it after all that I'd say give him an extended run and see what gives.

He is what he is and there's a way of playing, and scoring, when you've got someone like that in your squad. Get the ball up to him and the 3 attacking midfielders buzzing around him, getting the lay offs and we have a way of scoring. At the moment, we don't look like we have a goal in us. Play Wesley as a lone front man in a 4-3-3 and he'll be useless though.

We have to try something else.

The way we’ve played all season has left whoever has been up top isolated. Mmaee should never play centre forward again. He’s a floater not a centre forward…

Agreed but wouldn't it be lovely to see more of him? Really promising cameos so far and it's not like Gayle or Mmae have blown apart the opposition.

The more I thought about this, the more I realised that our current squad is pretty pants. 😅
If you want to play with a back four, something like ..
GK: Bonham RB: Tchamadeu CB: McNally CB: Wilmot LB: Stevens DMF: Burger DMF: Thompson AMF: Jun-ho WNG: Mmaee WNG: Campbell CF: Wesley
Thompson is a curve ball, but I really do not rate Laurent or Pearson at the moment. At least Thompson has a little energy and enthusiasm about him.
Wesley is not going to score, but he might provide more of a spearhead to our attack (or just more of a nuisance factor). I think if you get three good technical players working around him (Mmaee, Cambell, and Jun-ho) then we might find a little more potency.
I am not even keen on this side myself and I picked the damn thing! 😅😂

You're probably right, but I can see SS try him for half an hour if nothing works. But it doesn't solve anything, as he needs the same support that Mmaee isn't getting.

Will be interesting if Pearson's game ups a few notches, I think he will be too slow in possession for SS moving forward. Not sure about JT, I like him, but his default play is sideways or backwards.

Out of all these teams being picked, who is the playmaker in any of these ,you know the player who can open up a defence with a measured pass,at the right pace, well it's obvious we haven't got one,add to that a vulnerable defence, and we are where we are with this squad of players.

This is the worst squad down Stoke since the Brian Little, Bryan Small Ben Petty Wingback system. Very very similar in terns of having 2 or 3 decent players and the rest absolute dross

Looked much better today. Invest in the defence and we should be fine.

Burger and Bae can clearly do it. They just need to be allowed. I think people have been hoodwinked by how bad Neil was. We have good attacking players that weren’t allowed to attack/think/express themselves. Neil was a stifling twat of a manager who was scared of his own shadow and passed that fear to his players. It was clear last season and was why it was a no brainer to sack him in May. Any opinion formed on our new players especially the attackers needs to be parked until we can hopefully assess them under someone who will let them play.
