Is this where we speak about who we want as a manager then? Seeing as next manager thread is locked! I’m still in the Carsley camp! The guy has the work with what he’s given at England. That surely suits us down to the ground? I don’t think he gets to pick his squad from the elite of the premier league young players here. Don’t know whether you’d noticed that. Hopefully Jared has a few names for him and he knows how and wants to use them. Not convinced AN ever did.

His first job. Teach Hoever how to take a corner No, his first job is to drop Hoever! Look a bit silly if he doesn’t won’t you. Think it’s what’s known as painting yourself into a corner.

It’s interesting their fans saying “we may score from a corner or win away” in reference to him coming to Stoke….. what was just being said about Hoever and any other Stoke player taking a corner…..

I think it would work. Two players who want to run at the opposition receiving the ball from a player who can play with his back to goal. Just don’t ask Wes to win headers and it’ll work out. Or run or not to assist a goal for the opponent more regularly than our team. In fact don’t expect him to do anything much other than static trials of strength. 👍 Great. We agree then, it’ll work out.

Who’s going to start a thread on the Next Stoke City Manager (after Schuey has bombed in 12 months time)?
Actually I quite like the appointment- surely we’re going to get it right eventually?

They continue to take it well pasoti.co.uk/threads/schuey-to-stoke-city.126090/page-66Ever since Pullis and Shawcross told the world it was an accident that Aaron Ramsey got his leg broke (it remains the most blatant assault I've ever seen on a football pitch), I've despised the club, this is the icing on the cake. Can spot gloryhunting parasites a mile away. Argyle are clearly his second club. There's a mixture of emotion on that thread on pasoti, a lot of anger and people hoping we get relegated, but others are more pragmatic and accepting. If Schumacher is the success we all want him to be here and he gets poached by Everton, how will we react? Be grateful for what he has done for us or hope he burns in hell? Football fans really are utterly deluded about the people who's job it is to WORK for our clubs. BM

Amazed at the response of the Plymouth fans. You'd think we were a league two club the way they are going on. We're currently in one of the low points of our history for sure (minus our brief adventures in the 3rd tier wilderness) and they're at one of their peaks. Tells you all you need to know about the ceiling at both clubs.

Pole position Our colleague Neil Moxley at The Sun, writes;
Steven Schumacher is in pole position to land the vacant manager’s job at Stoke City.
The Plymouth Argyle chief is the frontrunner to succeed Alex Neil in north Staffordshire as the Potters narrowed down their search to two leading candidates.
Schumacher, 39, who is in his first full-time post with the Devon club, has beaten off (snigger) John Eustace to the post.
The former Birmingham boss was on the shortlist but the former Everton trainee is the prefered choice of Stoke’s technical director Ricky Martin.
Schumacher has been in frontline management for less than two years, having been promoted from assistant to the post at Home Park when Ryan Lowe left for Preston North End.
It is understood that Martin has made his choice with Schumacher getting the nod ahead of former QPR assistant Eustace.

I’m more excited than disappointed, but I won’t lie I was probably hoping more for a JDT or a Hassenhutl. However, it’s a middle of the road appointment for a middling championship club, which is where we are now there’s no denying it. Could go either way this, but I have a good feeling, I didn’t have the same feeling with Neil. Agree with this I was giddy for Nuno. Only concern is we’re not really a club set up to support good young managers and it does feel a little NJ MK2. However if he gets us playing like his Plymouth team he’ll get time from me. We can just keep lurching from manager to manager

Does anyone know how many of the current plymouth players SS bought, or which ones he inherited when he was Ryan lowes assistant there.
I really hope it's SS who is the real deal and he's not just living on Lowes decisions and players at plymouth.

We agree then, it’ll work out. I honestly don’t think you can play a player with so few attributes especially to lead your attack. We’ve had some duds try to do it but Wes has less attributes than any of them.
