On the basis of picking someone because they are not someone else is stupid. Bonham dropped an awful clanger last night and is not the long term answer. However we have seen him have good games and Simkin was on loan in non league football for a reason. Because he's young and needed experience, given the position we're in we could give him much better experience while also not playing a liability. His stage of development was judged to be at non league rather than Div 1 or 2 level.

Bit of a Hobsons Choice unfortunately. Bonham or an 18 year old in goal. Toss of a coin. To try and put a positive spin on it they both have the potential to improve a lot as they're both young. Edit. Just realised Bonham is 30 Being a goalie that probably means he has his best years ahead of him... Hopefully and hopefully he starts bringing those years on immediately 🙏

He was selected for three different England age groups for another reason. Yes because he is a good prospect but to throw him into a struggling Championship side would be much too risky for both us and him. It could be the making of him. It never did lots of young keepers any harm to come into poor teams at a young age. Think Jim Montgomery or Peter Shilton to name just two. Still if we had a good established keeper, we should play him. But we don't.

Didn’t we used to get 2,800 tickets for this fixture as apposed to the just over 2,000 this time !? I’m almost sure it’s due to WMP reducing away allocations. WMP have not had any input on allocation numbers

I think that Gallagher will go with the same kind of line-up (rightly or wrongly).
He obviously knows that he is only in place temporarily so it is no surprise that he went cautious on Tuesday.
Let's face it, no one benefits if he goes all guns blazing, loses both games, and we get spanked. He is there to steady the ship rather than to try and become the next Guardiola within a week.

Fancy tomorrow could be a new lie in terms of appetite and performance , it’s a ready made excuse for players that know they aren’t good enough and don’t fancy this league one iota

We'll start with no attackers on the pitch today and will do Well to come away with a 3-0 defeat.

Didn't Bonham say the other week that his confidence anddevopment were put back years when he played for Watford as a teenager and conceded a couple of goals? Despite what he said about criticism not bothering him now because of that experience I'm not sure that's true. Behind our defence I wouldn't want to play Simkin. You need a strong, experienced defender to protect a young gk.

Is this going to be the first time we’ve worn the blue away kit? Yes Against a team who play in blue and white We should be wearing red and white (with red or black shorts) Should always wear our coulors where we can

Just a quick Albion perspective...... WBA are teetering on the brink of a major implosion, that could mean this is the last WBA/Stoke game for some time (if things go really badly). The club has been forced to take out £40,000,000 of dodgy loans by an absent Chinese owner to keep the club afloat, and if a new owner is not found very soon there could be a January fire sale of player assets. With that threatening scenario in the background, the job that Corberan is doing with a depleted squad is remarkable. He has one fit senior forward - missing Maja (out for 4 months), Phillips (hamstring injury which means he may have played his last WBA game), Dike (out forever!) You may see an unfit Wallace playing in a striker role, or Asante ploughing a lonely furrow. Every match seems to throw up more injuries, so I expect more calamities tomorrow. The thought of a 3-0 Albion win is pie in the sky imo.

You can't say our defenders aren't experienced...if you want to question their quality that's a different matter.

Can’t see anything less than a 0-3 defeat today.
We just aren’t functioning as a unit. Can’t score and can’t defend.
Hope I’m wrong. Sometimes these games bring the best out of us just don’t see it today as there’s to much apathy.
We really need to get the new manager in ASAP.

Hard to see anything beyond a loss.
Still, if it gets too bad they could just stick a movie on the corner screen.
