'Owwwwww much?! £22m 🥵 (and I love the big fella - highlight of the season for me so far was watching him track back against Leeds) Tracking forward seems a big problem for him Absolutely, but I'll take watching him attempt to chase down Summerville like that T-rex chasing Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park to the grave.

I know that we are Stoke City & we have billionaire owners but in the position we currently find ourselves in in the field, we are not going to be able to go out and get any manager we want. For me Dean Smith is an upgrade on the last 2 managers which is 1 box ticked. Hes done a great job at Walsall, Brentford and Villa. He only had the last 8 games as manager at a team that was too far gone to save from relegation. The only blip on his cv is Norwich. I would give him a contract until the end of the season with a view to a automatic extension if certain targets are met. Makes me laugh when people keep touting established managers on little more than a trial basis. They’d laugh in your face.

This is the same Dean Smith that leathered 22M on Wesley... Can’t say I ever recall seeing Wesley pre injury but he’s absolutely having our pants down on a free he’s that immobile.

He's more mobile by making himself available every week, which is more than can be said for the rest of our 'strikers' who cry off every other week.

Please no, I don't have anything against him but it will just be a continuation of the mess we have been in since relegation. He had a good season once upon a time that's it, other than that he's been poor everywhere. It would be so predictable of Stoke if it were him though. For me it would be a terrible decision again.
Our summer signings were a point in the right direction, Smith would be two steps back and we will slowly creep back to our old ways that led us here. I would rather MON back than Smith, I would go as far to say I would rather Rowett than Smith, at least I would be fairly confident they wouldn't take us down.
Some managers just have a good spell at one club. Look at Phil Brown, he had a good spell at Hull and was shocking after. He was so bad he was last seen at Southend in non league football struggling. To me most British managers are a similar level and not very good.
If we sign Smith I think most fans would feel let down again, of course they will give the manager a chance but if things aren't going well quickly they will turn straight away and next time it might be on the owners. Many fans are losing patience with dog shit British managers who all seem to play exactly the same way, another one will definitely test the fans patience with the owners.

This is the same Dean Smith that leathered 22M on Wesley... That Wesley was a completely different player. This one is finished, he runs with a limp for god's sake.

Don’t tell me they’re faking injury, you probably used to trott the same shit out about Powell. It’s not a guessing game clubs know whether players are fully capable or not. You’re starting from a rather low bar with Wesley, he walks on like a cripple before a ball has been kicked. He’ll probably be on a mobility scooter by the time he’s 45. Maybe these other guys feel like they’ve got a future to protect and won’t try to hide injuries.

Norwich fans said he was the worst manager they have ever had, and villa under him would still have been in the championship if it wasnt for grealish, he would be the worst possible appointment. Worst possible, really......really!! So opinions on our worst manager?

I'll take the clubs word, that the injuries reported to Campbell, Mmaee and Vidigal this season have all been done so accurately. Doesn't take away that fact that only one of our strikers has made himself consistently available does it? *Loved Powell for all 10 games he used to play each season.

The players are constantly monitored it’s pretty difficult for them to fake injury or hide them either. Wesley is a bit of an outlier because his levels are so low generally they can’t be that difficult to attain when there’s something limiting him which there quite obviously always is 100% of the time. I wasn’t joking I actually fear for his long term mobility because he’s pressing on when something quite obviously isn’t right. It’s not normal for a professional athlete of his age to be so poor mobility wise.

Surprised at the hate for him. Out of the Coates pool (we know full well they'll be British) he's one of the better candidates.
Disagree that he's had one good season, just not true.
