A home coming fight at the ground against a steady opponent for a defence is a must before anything else. Give the lad his pay day and his place in history, and give the city something to get behind. Key this will be pricing, you can’t be charging £80+ for tickets in the stands. People just won’t bother. £20 for adults and £5 for kids and absolutely pack the place. Charge what you want ring side and in the boxes, but the stands need to be as cheap as possible. It would be great to have this on, with hopefully a new fan zone all tied in with all the local boxing gyms in the area. Make a day/weekend of it. But again, pricing is absolutely key. Make it a cheap enough, must see event and it will be something really special. Only half sell the tickets and it could lose the packed house feeling. yeah thats an idea get the local boxing clubs too use the venue during the day for the kids too experience it and have a fight then at night a real show with the lights and all that jazz

Put into perspective that NcGuigan pulled in 27k
One of the biggest crowd pullers in boxing ever
Heaney v Cash say wouldn't be a major fight outside of the city.
5-7 k would be realistic as long as not priced out

Boxes belong to the holders for all events at the stadium No boxing event charges £20 to be fair , not a chance would be priced anywhere near that I honestly don't think is there for a Bet365 event anywhere near capacity. I think with the local attention some getting a bit carried away about how big a name he is in boxing . Is great that he's such a name in Stoke though and hopefully can get a big pay day he deserves but even the TV networks aren't that interested it seems.

Yep have been to World title fights etc and aren't £20

It’s the card that would make it not just Nathan let’s be honest. Get a few more belts on the line with a couple more fighters who are also popular and then you build the gate.

To a certain extent I don't think boxing has that big a pull unless a big name, not talking these internet phonies etc although some unbelievably do pay to watch them. Some people actually paid to watch Bruno v Bugner

I’d wonder if a bigger midlands card at the NEC or back in Manchester with him headlining would be better. Get Fraser Clarke and Tyler Denny in there. A defence again Denny could be a big fight. Getting 15k in a packed NEC would be the best for that. Going for the moonshot for a world title that would be galalxies above his current level has a far better chance filling the ground and capturing national attention.

Yep have been to World title fights etc and aren't £20 Totally agree in boxing you don’t get “cheap” nights out with £20 tickets normally for world title fights. However I heard Eddie Hearn speaking earlier about a potential card in 2024 at Croke Park headlined by Katie Taylor and he was talking of cheap tickets in the stands for that one to enable “the man on the street” to attend and allow them to raise the roof for their hometown girl.

Katie T is an absolute superstar in Ireland and fought at the MSG. She would attract punters from all over the country, Heaney wouldn't to be fair. Be nice if we could go down that route though
