In the championship, yes. Those are the facts. Do you not think it's a bit early to say this, when we have a team that is getting better, is on a five game unbeaten run with 4 clean sheets, has a very good run of fixtures between now and the new year? What's the reason for the pessimism? If this run keeps up look at those crowds get near the 30k mark again. I primarily looked at our Championship history (i.e the last 5 1/3 years), as I already told you, so it's not too early at all. It's bizarre that you should criticise me for being too early, when what I'm telling Jesus Macmuffin is that it's too early to pass verdict on this season... I'm not pessimistic at all, just looking at the facts.

There's not much point in looking back to the last 6 years of crapness when we are in the midst of what could be our best run in this league.

There's not much point in looking back to the last 6 years of crapness when we are in the midst of what could be our best run in this league. I think you were questioning more than asking. There's every point to look back at the past, because we've had far better runs than what we're having at the moment, under O'Neill when he brought Powell and Fletcher to life and later also Tymon. We just weren't able to sustain those runs and I have to question if we can this time. What we have at the moment is not a particularly good run or we wouldn't be 14th in the league. It's simply doing a little better than we were just before that run where we were every bit "crapness" as you put it. Moreover we, like any other team, don't win on paper or in advance, although a fair number of fans seem to think we do. The games you've nailed on as already part of our golden run are the very types of games that we frequently do badly in, against teams that a lot of fans think are below our standards. It's really the matches vs Plymouth, QPR, Sheff W that will show whether we have progressed or whether we will continue as midtable fare- If we have progressed then we can start looking ahead where we will have to beat the Cardiffs and Coventrys , because we've already lost many points combined against those types of teams But I'll have to see it happening before there's cause to celebrate.

Not scoring enough goals and drawing far too many blanks. Until we can remedy that mediocrity will prevail.
