I’m just glad we have changed from buying has been expremier league players ie Vokes.
The profile of the players are younger hopefully hungry and can get better. I assume some will fail but we can build 2/3 up to being really good players.

Folk should closely at the table and Goals For and Against. It's pretty obvious that our biggest issue so far this season is scoring goals, not conceding them. that’s mostly down to how Neil set up not to lose games , with SS more attacking style we will concede more ,especially with our cb’s

Surprised we didn't strengthen at the back,I know we are in 7th for the best defence, but we only have to concede 1 and it's game over, because We struggle to score 1 never mind 2.

Strategically brilliant window by Ricky and co 1 we have signed a wide forward to replace thr two who we signed in the last window chiquino and vidkgal 2 we signed a forward to replace the one we signed in theist window Wesley 3 we signed a keeper to replace the one we signed in the last window 4 we signed the managers mate in midfield to replace one of the players we signed in rbe last window but we can't sell 5 we tried to sell 3 of the players we signed in the last window but can't 6 we didn't sign the centre half or last back we needed last summer but didn't sign 7 we spent £4m and got nothing in Can't wait for rickys fans forum spin on that one So is the answer to employ people who never make a mistake or to employ people who don't rectify a mistake when they make one?

Even those who don’t cut it haven’t cost upwards of £9m. £500k players will at least make the money back or not cost much in wages.

At least we've tried on umpteen occasions to try to buy decent centre backs - it's a complete riddle wrapped within an enigma who we continually fail to deal with our continual left back in-balance. It's gone beyond the point of either negligence or farce at this point.

I think the reason we have a decent defensive record is that the midfielders don't commit to the attack in order to bolster the defence which in turn means we don't score enough. My concern is that if we become more expansive we will expose the defence and concede more - which I think is what we saw against Brighton and Sunderland. I'm not sayimg we shouldn't be more expansive - it's just the defence is going to have to improve for it to work. If they don't we will just end up losing some high scoring games and get relegated. Which to be fair is apparently what some people can live with.

We certainly need a couple of wins and pretty quickly, otherwise, each game without one, the pressure ramps up and I am not convinced our squad could or can cope with it.

SS was very clear post-Sunderland that he wasn't concerned with the defensive side of things. His focus seemed to be all about converting chances. I was amazed he didn't think the gaping holes at FB position were a cause for concern. He just seemed to dismiss the issue and got back on to talking about attacking. Brave man! p.s. I note that the Plymouth fans when referring to SS use $$ instead. Is using SS really that bad? Just asking. I just find it quicker to write SS than Schumacher or $$. I think they now refer to him as $$ because he came to us for the money.

Done about as much as we can haven’t we this window, without outgoings it was always going to be difficult to significant business.
I wouldn’t keep any of the players whose contracts are expiring in the summer.
In the central striker department we’ll be left with Mmaee, Ennis, Lowe and Tezgel and given we’ve tried to offload Mmaee in this window it wouldn’t surprise me if we try again in the summer so there’s plenty of room for movement there.
CB’s will be just Wilmot and Rose so we’ll definitely be looking to add there. I don’t think either of those two are good enough for a promotion chasing side so hopefully we can do some good business.
LB - We’ll need two in that position.
RB - No real movement needed there, Junior should be starting and Gooch can cover there and other positions if he’s happy to be a big part player.
Wide players - Apart from a couple of very good goals I haven’t seen anything in Leris and no idea what Schuey makes of him. Vidigal has done ok but I don’t think hens anything special and probably not good enough for a promotion chasing side. When can Jojic make the step up? Where will Bae ultimately end up?
CM - They’re pretty much all under contract and will be on good money so we need to have some offers for them to change things up. The teamtalk guy seems to knows his stuff we’re happy to see the back of Baker, Johnson and Pearson. Wouldn’t surprise me if Laurent was a possible departure too.

Looking at our defensive record and what our main problem was in the last two matches (spooning chances and not doing your recovery runs) I can see why Steve has prioritised strikers and forward players.
Yes there is a big issue at LB, and I'd have preferred that be a priority, we should have enough in the building in the striker department after the summer. However the situation the manager will have seen over the last few games is a lack of pace, and no ability to hurt an opponent, a front foot manager like we currently have, who's tactics rely on us attacking the opponent, this poses a big problem.
If we can turn some of the chances we have missed the last few games into goals, the games will change and the other team will need to take risks, leaving more space.
Our defence hasn't been shocking, a few shaky moments, but it isn't the worst in the league.
This summer however, can we please get a Left Back! I feel all my life supporting Stoke apart from the Erik Peters days (I am 31) we have always had a left back issue.

I’m disappointed that Hooijdonk didn’t end up here on loan, he’s gone to Norwich. He looks like the big target man we needed. Hopefully the signings we’ve made do the business and at least they’re permanent, but even that carries its own risk.

I really wouldn't be surprised to see Millionaire Man-Huff employed as an extremely attacking left wing back.. He's played a large chunk of his career there and if you think about it, having 3 cbs, two raiding wingbacks (Tchammers on the other side) Burger playing the 6 role, we should have something exciting to watch going forward and enough cover at the back at the same time..

You are never going to get a defence that doesn't concede the odd goal so you try to make sure you have players who can score regularly

😂😂😂The Oatcake. We go from the despair of signing nobody in the window to the utter despair of the people we do sign being shit before they’ve even done 45 minutes. We’ve got some miserable fucking fans. In the last 15 seasons we've won more games than we've lost just ONCE. An absolutely disgusting statistic. Struggle to find another club in the football league as bad as that for such a sustained period of time. For context, Everton have managed it 9/15 times and they've been shit for a few years. Even Birmingham have managed it 5 times! It's unsurprising that there's apathy and pessimism, particularly with all of these false dawns. Very telling stat that. Even when we’ve been good it’s been very brief.
