FFS here we go! Oatcake land AKA fantasy island. Ex player does moderately well with another club but gets the sack in favour of a big name ex footballer, Stoke are struggling (hamstrung by injuries) and the manager is under pressure so all of a sudden JE is going to be the answer to all our problems. I seem to remember the majority on here shouting about our chances when AN was made manager. He won't be coming here anyway, AN won't be sacked (for a while yet) and JE will have found another job by then. Gouranga.

It sounds like a move straight out of the Garry Cook playbook to be fair. The same man who once complained that Richard Dunne's name didn't sell many shirts in the Far East... He’s a knob he was at Derby Friends with Rooney apparently Isnt he the knob that called Kaka a bottler for deciding to stay at AC milan (at a time when Man city were not the force they are now)?

Available, close, knows the club, well-liked, all that, but most importantly he seems to be a coach rather than a manager, so in theory would be happy to plug into a role coaching our band of merry youngsters from around the globe.
The Coates are predictably up shit creek with AN, having put so much stock in him, but if there’s one way out it’s appointing a good unpretentious coach on a shortish contract to put a solid team together from the squad we have and see where we go from there.
If there was any remote chance of it happening it’s a no-brainer, we should have Neil clearing out his office right now. But it’s never gonna happen

Mirror are suggesting Birmingham want Rooney with John O'Shea and Ashley Cole.
They reckon they are going to start playing ' no fear football ' .
Sounds like Birmingham city are being run by the local school playground to me .
If this turns out for the better , I will be amazed.
You know never know in football but I think ultimately Birmingham, will regret this move .

Suppose you could call it Ambition if you're being charitable.
Has all the hallmarks of a total disaster. All about the clicks. The signs were there when that gridiron Brady fella was paraded about.

The club statement shows a complete lack of class by the Board. Two statements in particular are quite distasteful whilst reflecting on Eustace

Attachment DeletedInteresting that Rooney was seen wearing an 'Undefeated' apparel cap during a recent interview before his departure from DC United! 'Undefeated' are Birmingham Citys club/shirt sponsor and are US founded!!

It just smacks of David Moyes/Mark Hughes/Paul Lambert. (if you excuse the obvious different scale)
We will persevere with AN, given how much time, money and effort has been put into making it work. JE will land a much better job, possibly do very well and we will find ourselves down the line with our dicks in our hands wondering why we didn't bother, when AN inevitable cannot turn us into anything more than midtable mediocrity or flirting with relegation, end up sacking the bugger at a time when a Mick McCarthy or god forbid, a Nathan Jones, are the only names available.

Eustace will most likely do well at another club, but most likely fail badly if he came here.

Possibly, yes but Mowbray has gone in there and taken them to another level so perhaps he was making the odd excuse there as well re the circumstances . In the last 12 months they've become a play off team, in fact, far less than that. Goes to show

Worth a punt.
I’d take John Prescott at the moment let alone John Eustace.

I will whisper it, but I think Mowbray would do well with our squad to be honest, good mix for his type of ethos.
