Doesn't look like he's playing with the same intensity or enjoyment as he was in August.

I said a few week back on here that I thought he was average and some laughed at me. He obviously isn't one to have in the trenches but he aint alone.

Probably dawned on him that the project to include Premiership football with us as sold to him ain't going to happen.

In the summer we didn't add one bit of raw pace.
Leris, Vidigal and Maee are all seriously one paced.
Campbell and Bae look like the only ones who could even dream of going past anyone.
Hippo is quicker than Gayle.

But which would you go for? We're a bottom half Championship club with no matter which manager we appoint nothing changes OR
We're a mid table Championship club with a new squad and we have aspirations of Premier League football next season. The only glass ceiling is the one we create for ourselves.

Doesn't look like he's playing with the same intensity or enjoyment as he was in August. The reality of Championship football may have kicked in. Lots of games, minimal rest time, high tempo and intensity matches, and getting lumps kicked out of him by experienced defenders. I think there is definitely a quality player in there, but this is going to be a steep learning curve for him and some of the other foreign lads.

He got no protection from the ref at Millwall, and had lumps kicked out of him. Came back when not fully fit, confidence not what it was

He’s seen through Gollum for the charlatan that he is - can’t see how any of them respond to such an odious little prick Again, I look to the fresh eyes of my nippers for games like this to notice things that I don't see as I'm too engrossed in witnessing another depressing spectacle. Early into the second half, my youngest told me to watch the player's faces. "You can see they're pissed off."

Another one of Jared’s hopeless Buys , only burger can possibly b seen as an improvement on what we had I think someone needs to wrestle Jared's little black book off him before he does any more damage. We really have bought a job lot of players completely unsuitable for the Championship.

He did okay initially. He scored some goals and that gave him confidence to go at players. The injury has taken away his confidence and now he needs to find it again if he’s going to contribute anything over the course of a season.

And my point is, if the club has any sense, they'll pitch the 'project' as one step away from Premiership football to all the overseas players regardless. They'll all know about the Prem and want a slice of that pie, good enough or not. Human nature. Add in a Powerpoint presentation of 5 pillars and a Cultural Architect then pass them the pen to sign.

Actually getting the ball to him in good areas would help.

It doesn't feel like he's actually a winger, better when he's allowed to float more centrally

We really have bought a job lot of players completely unsuitable for the Championship. This surely can't be right, didn't Vidigal7 tell us: 1.these players have been brought in to play a particular way, they've been hand picked for to fit into a particular role in a style of football we want to establish. 2.We've brought in good players with qualities hand picked by the manager to play a style and a brand of football he's already promoted two teams with. 3.Tje players he brought in look exciting and we have signed pkayers to play an attacking game with a sprinkling of flair, what more do you want? Well, what more do you want?...................Results?

It’d weird it’s.very unlike neil to bet the house on unproven players like we did especially in key roles but it’s going to cost him his jib and Martin and Jared should definitely go with him the big worry now is they don’t and remain to continue wreaking their havoc

I mean I don't much like AN, I find him utterly charmless. However I always considered him to be basically sane. A dour pragmatist who would never ordinairily indulge in the kind of crazed shopping spree we saw in the summer. I can only assume somehow Tricky and Jared have got in his head with their wide eyed almost religous evangelism.

Our only exciting player and we have some stoke fans questioning the bloke, absolute embarrassing. Jesus christ if it wasn't for vidi this season would be seriously depressing. He's been in the country playing a few months in one of the toughest leagues in the world in a new country yet big dave from chess is saying he's not good enough. Absolute laughable.

It would be a dream come true for him to be anywhere near the Premier League.

I think it's fair that folk discuss players and their performances, as for questioning a players ability, again I don't have an issue with this. From what I've read no-one has gone in particularly hard & certainly nothing abusive or derogatory, people are merely saying he isn't playing with the same charm & charisma he was initially. Has he had a loss in form? Not fully recovered from the Millwall injury? Not getting the service he requires? Just not feeling it like he was? Can't acclimatise to playing in the cold/damp conditions? Could be a host of reasons, no-ones really questioning his ability or him directly, just trying to figure out how to get the Vidigal of August/September back as something clearly not the same at the moment as it was pre injury. I recall an interesting few lines from Ian Cranson who was summarising for a match as Vidigal was returning from injury & he was being labelled as a saviour as our then main goalscorer was returning to the matchday squad on the bench. Cranson clearly said that Vidigals a player with great ability but Stoke fans shouldn't pin all their hopes on him to be some kind of goal machine in this side as he's predominantly a winger and despite having a great start with cutting in and scoring, the expectation levels maybe to high for him so soon. Cranny appears to be absolutely bob on with his prediction, as Stoke fans we can't help ourselves in getting abit excitable amd carried away with things from time to time. Perhaps Vidigals encouraging & impactive start to his Stoke career had bamboozled some fans into thinking he was some kind of golden nugget & was going to be the current day Arnie or Shaq for us in the Championship. There's nothing to suggest he won't be either, perhaps all he needs is a goal or a great assist to recapture his early season form. Perhaps there are deeper issues at play behind the scenes affecting the whole team, really dont see Stoke fans discussing such reasons as a major issue as you seem to suggest it is 🤔🙄

Hippo is quicker than Gayle. Do slighlty disagree with the suggestion that Vidigal is one - paced.. In his early games I noticed he had an ability of running for a ball & being able to excert extra pace by going up a gear and really stretching his legs out to run with the ball. Haven't seen it so much in his recent matches as much, but I'm convinced he isn't one paced as perhaps the others are.

A bit like Baker when he first arrived where everything he hit went in, masking the fact that his general play without the goals is a bit underwhelming.
Whether a better coach can get the old Vidigal back I'm not sure but I don't think it will be long before we find out.
