Is what this team are crying out for and I’m absolutely amazed now that it wasn’t the main priority in August.The manager surely has to try and get a free agent in sooner rather than later.
One clean sheet all season and the set play goals we’ve conceded surely shows what’s required

I'd have gone for Jake Cooper from Millwall. Rose and McNally are dreadful. Wilmot ain't much better either.

Late in the game when Mcnally was taken out of position and their striker ran him like he wasn't there, I just couldn't believe how rubbish he is.
Why did we gamble the season on these two jokers, rose and mcnally.

Wilmot would be well-complimented by a Cooper type, you don't necessarily need 2. But you do need at least 1.

He's better than Rose and McNally that's for sure. He's the least of our problems but he needed an experienced organiser next to him and we failed to get one. Massive oversight that will probably cost AN his job. |

Should have been one of Rose or McNally based on their performances so far as neither of them look better than back up options. We’ve signed both and instead now have 3 of the same centre back with nobody different to come in and just gobble up balls into the box and bully strikers.

What I don’t understand is the Coventry fans were raving about McNally. A Coventry team that were very good last season. On paper I thought he looked a great signing.
Rose was a free transfer who is ok as back up in the championship.
I agree with the original post obviously that a strong, dominant centre half along side Wilmot would make a massive difference.
It will be interesting to see how McNally pans out. We really need him to step up

Agreed - been saying it for a while now - conceding from simple balls into the box since he has been here, in pre-season friendlies also and now in almost every game this season.
We have neglected defence in every window since Pulis - I am at a loss now - bringing in 9 attacking players and having lack a lack of quality/quantity in defence is just pointless.
We needed 5 central defenders in the squad, absolute minimum of 4, and a couple of tall commanding ones at that - a large chunk of the cash we had to spend should have gone on getting some genuine quality in that area - if you can't defend what is the point of strengthening elsewhere.
