Tomorrow on Saturday the World Championship in Athletics begins.
In Sweden we have Daniel StΓ₯hl in discus and Armand Duplantis in pole vault to follow closely of course, since they are mega stars and hunt world records. But both have had some setbacks lately. You can't assume they'll win.
What to look out for among the Brits, what disciplines?

We should be strong in the sprint relays.
Keely Hodgkinson in the 800m is the fastest in the world this year.
Dina Asher-Amith in the 100m and 200m. I think one of the British men could spring a surprise too, especially Hughes who's broken 100m and 200m British records that stood since the mid 90s.
Laura Muir in the 1500m.
Katerina Johnson-Thompson in the Heptathlon.
I don't know much about the field events, but Jazmin Sawyers from Stoke has a shot at a medal in the long jump.

The three female long jumpers from Sweden all underachieved. Sagnia jumped 6,35. She's normally our #1, but has been injured a lot this season and hasn't competed until the beginning of June. Γ
skhag didn't make it and not Tilde either.
The limit was set to 6,80 for the finale but the jumping overall were worse than expected, so the limit was lowered to 6,61.

Think were gonna get sub 10 second times across the board in the final potentially Everyone runs under 10 seconds? Could do, 4 of the heat winners have gone under 10 seconds so far with the rest not far behind. Probably a first if it happens?

Unbelievable drama - two Dutch athletes in separate races falling over in gold medal winning positions. The 400m runner proper smashed her face into the track in the 400m relay, gifting GB the silver medal.

I must admit I quite enjoy this one.
Fit, nubile girls jumping around in tiny pants.
Denise Lewis in the studio crammed in to a tight pencil skirt.
Michael Johnson metamorphosising in to Morgan Freeman.
I mean what not to like? π€·

7 of the 8 finalists running sub 10 second semi finals and 8th quickest ran 10.01. If Kerley hadnβt have royally fucked up his semi they would all be sub 10 seconds

Just great for KJT made up for her. Was brilliant she had a fantastic day all round Despite the long jump and javelin I thought that Hall would have too much in the 800. To get a PB in the last event at 30 after all she's been through. Just amazing.

Lyles did look ultra confident beforehand mind but he was made to work very hard for that win. Made up for Hughes though. And him who came 2nd I have to say Iβve never heard of him up to these championships

Reminds me of when I ran in the city championships 100m at Northwood Stadium in 1990. I knew Iβd dipped at the right time with a sensational personal best of 12.80π When you know you knowπ€£ I finished 6th by the wayπ€

Said after the race he thought he had pipped Noah! Probably thought he had gold or silver. I don't think he saw the dude from Botswana to his left at all.
