I disagree, I think Wesley was the only one that stood out as having an above average game. Probably agree with you on Travers though. I should have included Wesley, felt a bit sorry for him and tried to make things happen the odd time he saw the ball. Wilmot put in 2 or 3 potential goal saving challenges. He did ok for me with no protection for the back 4. Need to step it up big time today before it turns into last season and the AN excuse book again Are you the reincarnation of jesusmcmuffin mark 1…?

As a back up looking to improve I'd be fine with him but it's a worry he's a guaranteed starter. I'm not sure about the excuse book comment, one bad game in three is probably more than I expected, there's a lot of new faces and it'll take time for them to get used to each other, and the the league for some, many more positives than negatives for me so far.

Early days but we beat the relegation favourites, beat them well and hopeless v a better side. His job to pick the side to gel , something he failed miserably at last season and had the big excuse of not being his players from so many. He bought them, he has to sort that issue out being the manager and all.

No one was going to get last season's squad to gel all that much, it was an awful squad lacking all over the place.

That's the excuse was referring to every week last season Let's hope the gel one isn't still being rolled out in a few weeks time Excuse or reason, depends how you look at it but it's true, the squad was put together with zero idea of how they wanted it to look, we were meant to want to play a certain way and some how built a squad that wasn't capable of playing any way in particular.

So basically he couldn't manage the players he knew he was inheriting ? After his own additions in the window he managed to accumulate even less points per game in the long run than the previous manager with those players , many of whom were injured before he came so didn't wash with me . Was all talk and excuses after losses, results have to come now. Fingers xed, some of the signings look exciting but you win nothing on paper of course. He's got players he wanted and time to earn the big money we're paying him rather than talking about what he's trying to do etc Be very tough today and has to start winning games like this

Thankfully we're in a position now to completely dismantle and pretty much start again. As you say, you win nothing on paper and so far we've won twice on the pitch to back up some of the talk, hopefully it'll continue as well as being able to add a few final touches to the squad before the window shuts. No reason to be nothing but excited about what might happen.

Carabao Cup aside so far for me as teams don't take it seriously and rest their better players in most cases.. last season's home form was atrocious, squad excuses aside. Not acceptable under any circumstances. Very tough game today and be interesting to see how we set up. If we can get it forward we can cause them massive problems but something we were unable to do last week v a team who closed us down . Pearson was dreadful last week, Laurent not much better. Hopefully see more today but they're a powerful and strong side.

I wouldn’t be surprised see Gayle start today to give us a runner up front.
Must be Vidigal on the left.
Decisions on the right - Chiquinho or Mmaee.

Travers Rose Wilmot. McNally However. Tymon Pearson. laurent Johnson Vidugal. Wesley or Travers hoover. Mcnaly wilmot. Stevens vidigwl Pearson Laurent. Thomson or Tymon Johnson Wesley got to be more solid and strunger rhe likes of chuiquino and maee need more strength around them before they are ready 433 runs a risk of getting overrun tomorrow Pretty much spot in he's q victim of his own trader policy and has to minimise the risk of being overrun plan already llokig we'll adrift by game 3

I wanted to put three at the back but with Tymon instead of Stevens! We do actually have a squad for 343, 532!
We'll see! Come on Stoke!
