Whilst all the praise is naturally falling on Vidigal, I just wanted to share some love for Enda.
After season upon season of substandard left backs, Enda looks absolutely quality. I really wasn't sure why we'd signed him, but if he stays injury free he'll be an integral player in the team. He never looked threatened, won pretty much everything that came at him, looked forward not back, played some belting balls down the line, offered strong support to those in front, had a few great crosses, and overlapped far better than I thought he would do with some really intelligent use of the ball when he did so. I'd love to see the player stats as I doubt any other player on the pitch was as well rounded as he was yesterday.
Fingers crossed he keeps that up for the rest of the season - if he does it will Enda hunt for a left back (I'll get my coat...).

Well said. Thought he was excellent. Didn’t put a foot wrong and got forwards well.

Agreed. Was very worried after Derby where he looked all washed out. Thankfully it just seemed a bit rusty after very little football last season.

Agreed, he did well and did a more well-rounded job than Sterling did from LB last season. Tymon should try to learn all he can from him!

He was very good yesterday and everything I expected when we signed him,a good solid pro who knows what’s what and exactly why Neil signed him.

I liked Fox and couldn’t see this as much of an upgrade but I was pleasantly surprised by Stevens yesterday.
Calm, solid, took up good positions and did OK going forward.
Cracking debut.

Whilst a few of the newer lads looked a little nervy in the first 15, he looked like the international he is throughout. Think working with him will really benefit Vidders

He was solid, no need to be ott But solid is fine especially when it balances the other side.

S yes definitely, Hoever and Brown had the flair and athlecism of Hoever combined with the work rate and dependency of Brown and on the left we had work rate and dependency of Stevens along the flair and speed of Vidigal Though AN got both flanks spot on

Always had loads of space and we ignored it a tad. But when we got the ball over to it, the ball stuck.

Superb.
A real surprise to me but I now have few worries about the left back position.

I think AN talks about sucking teams in and then creating space and it was noticeable that the left side did this consistently yesterday.
I haven't seen it mentioned, but it was then Wilmot who spread the play with 3 or 4 magnificent cross field balls to Hoever who was in acres.

Really good I thought ,steady ,solid and not too shabby going forward too.
We still need another LB though ad I don't fancy Tymon there.

I am against signing players past their best ...I didn't agree with signing 40 year old Jags ( obviously brilliant in his hey day ) , 34 year old Aden Flint and 33 ? year old Enda Stevens etc
But fair play , he was decent yesterday .I remember a Rotherham player leaving him for dead once and he just bought him down with a clumsy challenge ...a free kick , no harm done .
Would have been nice to have got in a pacy young full back like the Colchester lad , but obviously they have tried to up the fee and we can't encourage other clubs to do the same , by caving in to Colchester United .
Humble pie time ... looked a good pro to get in on a one year contract .

Played well yesterday but would not fancy watching him against one of the better attackers in the league.

Played well, looked comfortable on the ball and didn’t look vulnerable under any pressure, only thing I worry about is when he comes up against a sharp winger🥶

Reminded me of a left footed Phil Bardsley, solid defensively with some neat work going forward. I like him.

Couldn’t believe some of the match day ratings he got, was close to MoM for me. Excellent and apart from a wayward pass hardly put a foot wrong and always looked to get us going forward.
Thought he was brilliant

Basically all the defence and midfield looked confident with pretty rapid mid-to-long range passing IMO. Every other season we've had players that were either too slow or only seemed to think of short passes. It was way more fun to watch yesterday's play. Good debut from Enda and Rose too IMO.

For me one of 3 in a Stoke shirt that could have been MOM, he stood out as I can't remember him making any mistakes and a few of those curling balls forward to Vidigal were sublime. Gouranga.
