For me one of 3 in a Stoke shirt that could have been MOM, he stood out as I can't remember him making any mistakes and a few of those curling balls forward to Vidigal were sublime. Gouranga. One poor pass in Second half apart from that was excellent That poor pass came from a pass to him from Johnson which put him under pressure. Johnson acknowledged it and apologised.

They absolutely loved him at Bramall Lane. There was just the doubt he would regain his form after his injury.

I think he could be excellent. I do think though, that players at a certain age seem more vulnerable to poor form in back to back games during fixture congestion. We saw it with Chester, Vrancic and Jagielka. Whether anyone liked them or not is not the point. The point is that each fell off during those 3 game weeks. If Tymon stays, he’ll need to match Enda’s performances yesterday for that left back spot not to become a problem.

Agreed, he did well and did a more well-rounded job than Sterling did from LB last season. Tymon should try to learn all he can from him! He was better going forward than Sterling and put in some lovely crosses, but I don't ever remember any opponent getting the better of Sterling on a one on one.He was a top defender.

Yeah, that's why I said "well-rounded". Stevens did way more going forward than Sterling ever did (even from RB where his natural right-footedness would help for crosses). But he had good control of Odoffin (and the Luton loanee) on their right wing. He was helped by Pearson, but still did a good defensive job.

He got forward very well. There was one point where I thought 'who is that in attack' and realised it was Enda, he was that far forward in attack.

Showed today exactly why he wasn't the answer.
Nothing going forward. Poor defensively.
And his running through treacle moment in the 2nd half was Ward reincarnated

One of those types of games, they got early momentum and our midfield didn't stop anything. I actually felt sorry for the back four as they were pretty much up against it all game. When the midfield goes AWOL and the opposition is allowed to turn unhindered and run directly at the defence from the centre-circle then your back four is going to look ropey. I lost count of the times they had overloads and were making Wilmot/Rose/Hoever and Stevens have to make decisions to step out to challenge or try and hold a shape.

They just closed us down so well and AN hadn’t prepared the team for that.

Good to have him back yesterday. Not a flash player but solid and gives us some much needed experience. For me I’d keep him as captain he leads by example and seems to be an excellent pro.

The suggestion that his legs have gone, that he was another Steven Ward is clearly wrong
Looking at the player marks for yesterday shocked to see 5 and 6 chucked out for him, he had an excellent game.
However the concern re his injury record has been borne out
Do we ensure we sign another left back or are we happy with Junior and Gooch?
Can Clark play left back too?

I’d like a young LB that can learn from him. Not sure we’ve got anybody coming through the ranks at LB that could make it? Whilst junior and Gooch could fill I’d sooner Junior is given time to make the RB spot his longer term.

Neil said in signing Stevens that he had an experienced player with a winning mentality! With all the young players in the team/squad we need his experience around the squad, even if he has to be rested to get the best out of him. Hopefully Clarke will give us a similar influence to the younger players. Pearson and Johnson our other two experienced players don’t seem to have that quality. At the end of the day we have a very young and untried side. Hopefully be in mid table after Christmas and better form in the new year.

Been really solid since he’s come back. Does the basics very well, plays out when it’s safe, puts the ball into touch when there is risk. Think we would’ve had a few more points on the board if he hadn’t been out for so much. Having said that, a first team replacement is required for next season.

Too injury prone, no thanks. No thanks even though we've looked better when he's played? Give him another year but bring another LB in who's younger and that's fine by me.

It’s made a difference Enda coming back I don’t know if that’s down to the player or we have an actual LB playing LB giving us better balance. I liked that other lad we had on loan from Sheff United was it Norrington Davies.

I liked him but I don't think he was as good as Stevens and thought he was a bit rash but that was down to inexperience I guess. It's a shame Stevens isn't a few years younger really, he's a very good LB at this level.

He’s a really solid Championship left back, just a shame he’s not 5 years younger. I wouldn’t be offering him a new contract though.

I’d sign him up for another year.
Big difference for me when he’s in the side.

I’d sign a starting left back too though.
