What signing got you most excited?
Shaq in most recent times for me

Shaqiri and Bojan based on their quality.
Then sadly Imbula. I thought for the price he would be the best player since the 70s. The rest is history.

I always get excited when we sign someone from Spurs
Wilson Palacios, Jonathan Woodgate, Kevin Wimmer, Gerry McMahon...

Always thought Wilfried Bony was the perfect signing for us, you think I’d have learnt my lesson and not get excited about signings now but here I am hoping to see a blurry photo of a man from 200 yards away just so everyone can guess who it is

Probably Peter Shilton for me simply because it was a massive statement at the time and felt like we were going all out for the title.
A world record fee for a goalkeeper and England's No.1 keeper.
It just seemed like a big shift in gear.
Alan Hudson was the most exciting signing but that was from the first time I saw him touch the ball for Stoke, I didn't realise just how good he was when we signed him.

Don't think we'll ever beat Shaq. He'd been linked with the big boys for years.
Even Bojan at the time was a gamble, plenty weren't convinced.

Hoekstra was a massive shock for a player of his reputation to rock up with us where we were then. Edited as it was changed to Joel Star by spellchecker

Arnautovic for me. He had flair and attitude and was known without being mega famous at the time he joined us. A player that actually delivered & lived up to his YouTube montage prior to signing! Seemed the type of signing that genuinely took us onto the next level..
Notable mentions to Bojan & Shaqiri but also Crouch as he was a big named signing that had played for England & right at the top level & was a well known player throughout the country. I know he wasn't popular with everyone on here, but he definitely created a different dynamic when it came to positive publicity for Stoke aswell..

John Carew, obviously.
I was really excited for Taggart, as he was exactly what we needed. I was most excited for Hoekstra. Bojan was cool but I was a little older and more pessimistic about injuries then.
Edit: I was more excited for Eidur than Bojan actually. He came on at the Brit and destroyed us a few months before he signed. He looked like everything we needed. He turned up looking like he ate everything he wanted.

I always get excited when we sign someone from Spurs Wilson Palacios, Jonathan Woodgate, Kevin Wimmer, Gerry McMahon... ] I actually was as excited about Palacios as I was Crouch when we signed them. We should never do business with that club again after Wimmer, even if it was our own fault, pulling our own pants down and bending ourselves over while they added millions of pounds to the value of a player who'd played for them about twice.

When we signed shaqiri I thought we were going onto another level. Think I must have been the first to get his name on the back of my light blue away top. Still have it and never get rid of it. Happy times.

Bojan for me. Second weirdly was Whelan in the Championship. Whelan was a good one you’re right. Nothing will beat the excitement of Shaq. It made you wonder how good we were going to be, sadly it was the beginning of the end really.

Given that many of our best signings have been 'dogs home' and even Arnie was an unknown quantity for me at least, and many of the Rock the City signings have been so shit it's embarrassing to own up to any excitement, it's hard to go past Shaq. He was a known superstar, not a problem dog, and actually did Rock the City when he played for us.

Patrik Berger and Tuncay - both completely left field for us and both transformed us.
And Bojan - how could I forget that sexy little bastard?!?

Anyone old enough to remember Paul Randall?
The Aaron Collins from Bristol Rovers rumour reminded me of this one since Randall too came from the Gas!
