Good. This is the first news we have heard of our new semi professional set up. Maybe a sign that we are taking them more seriously. Hopefully more info will follow regarding next season. 1 day til the start of the season and we still seem woefully short in key areas. Center back looks weak, midfield is not good enough, i still think we need a playmaker and another DM. Up front we seem to have more options now but it remains to be seen whether they are good enough. All in all I haven’t seen any consistency or plan with the recruitment but I sincerely hope I am wrong. Let’s hope we start well tomorrow. What’s your starting line up I am going for Travers Hoever, Rose, Wilmot Stevens Pearson Laurent Brown Johnson Wesley and Campbell What do you think? I think you're talking absolute shit.

A lot of unknowns to this season:
Can Neil get them to reproduce the form they showed in March? Can they perform consistently? Are the untried newbies going to be top championship standard? Will so many new signings gel quick enough to mount a play off challenge?
One thing I will stick my neck out and say is, that sol sidebe will get a lot of game time this season and be a big success.
If the relegated sides struggle to adapt, I think we will be pushing top 4.

Looks a decent enough side to me, and we have two new signings you haven't mentioned who should provide moments of excitement at the very least. Whether it fires or not is a different matter. I think we'll finish comfortably top half this season (barring the usual injuries to key players), with at least a couple more players still to sign and further strengthening in January.

What do you mean you haven't seen any plan with the recruitment, sorry? Whether it turns out to be successful or not is a different story but there's clearly a plan? There's also close to a month of the window left to make another few signings and we'll make at least a couple more if not more? I honestly don’t see a cohesive plan. We have 8or 9 forwards in the squad but only 4 midfielders and 4 defenders with any record of playing at this level. Just seems strange to me. Are we buying youth or going for experience? What formation are they recruiting for. Seems we now have a large number of wingers but dont we play 4-3-3? I just don’t see the plan but am very hopeful that Neil does and it will come together

No one knows how it will go and that’s exciting. The truest thing I’ve read on here for weeks. We could win the league or finish bottom half. By this time tomorrow, we will know a bit more.

Certainly a better position than we were in last season where I genuinely think MON would have relegated us. We’ve thrown the dice in a sensible seeming fashion. Let’s see what happens.

Wilmot, Rose, Hoever, McNally, Tymon, Stevens...all of them have experience playing at championship level, and I imagine we'll get at least one more in before the window closes, probably one who also has plenty of champ experience. Why do we have to have a set policy of either youth OR experience? The most successful teams in this league go for both. Pretty much every competent team in world football goes for both. Yes we're taking risks with some of the signings, but that's completely necessary. We've got absolutely nowhere since we got relegated and went with the 'tried and trusted' players like Gayle and Aden fucking Flint. This window has been as overwhelmingly positive as we've had in years, there is a clear strategy to our recruitment and people are rightly excited. It really feels like some fans are just searching for reasons to be negative. Allow yourself a bit of joy ffs.

Rowett signed an abundance of players with a record at this level, is there maybe an argument that’s an attribute we might be rating too highly? We look to be in the market for one more midfielder at least. We need another defender and I expect us to sign one. The ‘large number of wingers’ is what, four plus DWP who’ll likely go out on loan? All look like they fit into 4-3-3 from what we know?

I think we're lacking at center back, and it's a big gamble to think mmaee and Wesley will sort our striker problem out.
Left back doesn't look good, and if Pearson gets injured our midfield becomes a shit show with Thompson coming in.

striker , midfield , centre back

72+ podcast calling Ipswich and Stoke the "dark horses":
"Now Alex Neil has had a full pre-season, expect Stoke to surprise one or two people. They’ve had a decent window so far – getting in good Championship experience in Johnson Stevens, Pearson, Rose, and Mark Travers. They were one of the biggest underachievers of the last few years, so we should definitely see an improvement this time."
They suggest Leicester as best-equipped for a straight return to the Premier League.
