We had years ago, think he had blond hair, every time he booted the ball up field it always went out for a throw in?

He was a good defender though.

Any clue on the era? If more recent we had a crazed Austrian bloke in our relegation season, Moritz Bauer. He looked like a man swimming lengths while a water polo match was going on around him. Here he is...

We had years ago, think he had blond hair, every time he booted the ball up field it always went out for a throw in? Alex Lindsay Alec Lindsay. Right footed but a left back. We thought he would be good because he came from Liverpool but unfortunately not. He did tick the box of slicing most of his clearances in to the Paddock though.

Here he is... He was my pick for captain when we got relegated and turned out he was staying 😁. Which goes to show even the great ones get it wrong sometimes...

I’ll tell you who it wasn’t - Mikael Hansson.
What a player he was - not really a right back though, definitely a wing back.

Yeah, Lou signed him from Coventry to replace Ian Clarkson for the last year at the Vic. Nigel Worthington signed as left back at the same time (Lee Sandford had just been sold to Sheffield United). Worthington didn't last very long and got pushed out by a teenage Andy Griffin. Pickering wasn't a great signing but came back to haunt us a few years later, scoring a screamer for Burnley in front of the Boothen End when they beat us 4-1 during the Brian Little shit show.

Let's face it, it's every fucking right-back we've ever had (with a small number of notable exceptions).

Tony Allen when Waddo played him right back instead of left back which was his natural position.

John Halls? A right back with long blonde hair but as I recall it pretty decent - didn’t boot the ball out of play every time he had it anyway. A model now the handsome devil.

Just seeing a Mitre football fills me with nostalgia. The Mitre Delta Magma purred off the boot😀 That was the first ball I ever got. Remember opening it on my birthday, only to realise my mum hadn’t bought a pump to go with it. Spent the morning trying to inflate it with a straw. Good times.

Just seeing a Mitre football fills me with nostalgia. The Mitre Delta Magma purred off the boot😀 That shirt!! Omg it had to be the worst material our shirts have ever been made from, was horrendous to wear when part-taking in any type of sports activity. This even edged that yellow le-coq shirt we had in the Prem for dodgy material. Albeit the absolute worst was that green Asics away shirt we introduced when we moved to the Brit. That had a double layer of the most shocking material ever, it was like wearing a jumper. The weight of it used to proper chauff the nips whilst playing footy, worst Stoke top ever for nip rub especially with the massive cardboard like Stoke badge it had on it! Makes me squirm even thinking about it now! Nostalgia, but not for the right reasons for me..!

Spoke to a Dundee United fan this summer who confirmed Clarke has legendary status up there, scored in two separate games v Barca All back when Dundee United were a really decent outfit and when SPL was a better standard than English second tier He was absolutely shocking for us An extreme example of how players can be good at one club and bad at another Sheron is probably best example of player being shit, 'miss it Mike' he was called at Norwich, simply sublime at Stoke
