Ive not said get rid of the playoffs though, I said to make it two teams go up automatic and one in the playoffs as it is in our league. League one and league two it's three automatic and one in the playoffs. Think you must have misread my point there Salop. But it’s all arbitrary - two going up is no more fair than 1 or 3 or 8. What happens if you change it to 2 and then you get three teams that get 100 points? It’s harsh for a team like that to miss out but you can’t say it’s not fair. Yes of course. But we all love our pyramid don’t we and I think it would be better if there was consistency in the number of teams that get promoted from each division throughout the pyramid. So as it’s 3 promoted from the Championship and Division One it should also be 3 promoted from Division Two (currently 4) and 3 from the National League (currently 2). Having only 2 promoted from the National League feels a bit like the EFL pulling up the drawbridge to me.

Surely it's time to incorporate the NL into the League and make it 'League 3' It's strong enough, a lot of the clubs are professional these days anyway and there are bigger clubs at that level than some in League 1. You could have two going up automatically, maybe have a play off for the next place involving the team finishing 3rd bottom of League 2. It's daft that three go up automatically from League 2 and only one from the NL. There's nothing between the two divisions these days
