Not voting again ever ! All of the self serving wankers in all parties can go fook themselves You should exercise your right to vote and spoil the vote, it’s still counted as you turning out and a spoilt vote has to be registered. Of course it’s entirely your right to not vote and I get why so many people just wouldn’t bother! I just wish more people would express dissatisfaction at the ballot box by spoiling votes rather than stay away, maybe those in power would really see the scale of disconnect between the electorate and themselves. People should not be scared of the government, the government should be scared of its people

Just recently had ours over here…. I voted ‘Groen Links’ or the Green left party….. the farmers group swept almost all of the local elections. - as a protest vote due to the on going pollution problem here in NL……. Which the government say is the farmers fault !! If I were over there right now I would wipe my arse witje ballot paper whilst in the voting cubicle, pull back the curtain and just pop it in the ballot box…. All it’s good for. Witje? Is that pigeon Dutch? 😉 Predictive text mate. When you do 2 languages back to back you get some absolute corkers….. and the recipient replies “ what the fuck are you on about” 😂

The Communist Party have a candidate running in our local election, there’s also an NHS consultant running, as well as a Green candidate. I know this as they’ve all knocked on my door, unlike the two main parties…….. Crikey, I bet you had a right laugh with the communist party candidate

Voting will be a shitshow with forced photo ID if you want to cast your ballot Hopefully most people will be aware but I can see mither in some areas - we all know why its been bought in, and its not to combat the virtually non existant voter fraud....the Govs own research paper shows a few hundred cases since 2010, into the tens for convictions! (Also if you are old (and therefore more likely a Tory) you can use a multitude of ID inc Oyster Cards etc....if you are young (and more likely left leaning/liberal) you cant....go figure) Knype, badger, the void, philiteen, bianca and Henry can all go collect their pensions together and then use their bus passes to vote. Yous could go to the bingo hall after and make a day out of it 🤣🤣

We'd rather just kick back with our hard earned money and watch the left continue to self implode over issues such as their inability to define women, constant outrage over protecting one's borders and their endless demands for more and more state intervention.

I must have lived under a rock in the 00s. But the definition of a woman wasn't a hot topic in the last "left" government. You must have forgot to take your dementia tablets again. Presume the more and more state intervention is those thousands upon thousands of food banks. Those weren't from a left wing government either. Maybe a day at the care home will be better 🏡

That sounds really patronising I know but it’s true really. Apologies if offended😉

Just cause the other fella said about tory voters being older so was funny in my head picturing you lot as a group of pensioners on a day out 🤣 I was blessed to have been born in 91 and grow up in the 90s and 00s. I grew up in what was once the second biggest housing estate in Europe and my childhood was very much mainly spent outdoors building huts, being a wee shit with fireworks, playing football every day on the street and playing fields and an era where your friends where your neighbours and you called for each other at the door. Foreign holidays weren't a thing for people like me. I have a very grounded upbringing. I don't use social media aside from Facebook messenger as I don't really give a shit about seeing people's highlight reels or publicising my private life for others either. Any twitter link I've posted has been one someone else has posted elsewhere. My politics are based mainly on my life experiences. But I do agree that social media is toxic and a cesspit and certainly has a huge influence. And maybe indirectly it's influenced me. If I had my way it wouldn't be left or right. I'm ready for a Trump capitol building seize/French revolution inspired riot and coup of the establishment. Feck them all! And I'd purge the super wealthy from their rich estates too while I'm at it. Robin Hoods my inspiration. And these tory cunts are my kryptonite cause they rob from the poor and give to the rich. Lots of love big badge x

You could still be right though mate. I had social media in my late teens and early 20s and it could certainly have influenced me. I actually think due to the Internet coming up when I was growing up and playing games online and stuff too. Alot of people my age would have regularly played computer games or conversed online on forums like this one with other Europeans. And in a way maybe that's one of the reasons why young people are a bit more pro eu and globalisation because from an earlier age we were regularly communicating with people in foreign countries and building friendships with them. Whereas for another generation they wouldn't speak to an Italian person unless they travelled there. I am a cheeky cunt though xD

Got to the polling station this morning at 07:10 after going for a 5k run, the jobsworth in the foyer immediately asked "ID Sir?" I proceed to give him my drivers license with a photo that is clearly me despite me being slightly sweaty with training gear on, he then looks at me for about 30 seconds like he's gazing at the fucking Mona Lisa or something before shouting over to the desk "acceptable ID" As I leave a woman of about 60 is being sent back home in disgrace to get her ID as she obviously didn't get the memo. Still it was worth it to vote Communist Party Green Party Lib Dems Labour Conservative Independent draw a giant cock and balls on the ballot paper I suppose.................

Blimey, bet the jobsworths are absolutely loving these changes!
So much easier and more convenient to vote postally in your own time.
Mind you, that'll be the next thing the Tories will want to target.

Why was the photo ID needed / introduced?

I will be voting for my local Labour councillors today, one of whom was the driving force behind the Sylvester's Community Trust build, as seen on BBC's DIY SOS. Incidentally do not let the bouncers on the door turn you away, it is your democratic right to go in to the station and be turned away by the officials not the goons. They have to count you as having no ID then. Tories are trying to cover this up even more.

Why was the photo ID needed / introduced? That's a very good question. Some would say it's to address voting fraud, ie to ensure that the vote X casts is in fact X's vote. However, there is little (or no) good evidence to suggest that the problem is anything other than utterly insignificant. So, others would say that it's a blatant and sledgehammer attempt to load the dice - because the way the ID requirement works (and because of well-understood voting patterns) is more likely to favour the Tory vote. Personally, I think this government's record indicates that it can be trusted to be fair, transparent and democratic - always. There's absolutely no evidence to suggest it would indulge in such shameless gerrymandering.

Why was the photo ID needed / introduced? Officially to get rid of voter fraud. Realistically to supress a certain demographic of voters who are unlikely to vote for the current government.

When can you expect to see results for these votes? Will there be any tonight or is it likely to be tomorrow or through the night?
I think this will be quite pinnacle tbh. Sunak continues to try and pretend everything is brilliant. NHS flying, crime all time low, more people in jobs ever, super strong economy. All bullshit like but if you say it enough you maybe start believing it.
But if they lose lots of seats here even with it being council elections. Gonna be difficult for him to keep up this "everything's the best it's ever been" front.

Why was the photo ID needed / introduced? It wasn’t needed. It was introduced because the tories are desperate to use any tactic possible to win, and they have allowed old people (more likely to vote tory) to use bus passes or oyster cards as ID, but young people (less likely to vote tory) cannot use the exact same documents as their ID! It is an absolute disgrace and for that reason alone, nobody should ever vote tory again.

Officially to get rid of voter fraud. Realistically to supress a certain demographic of voters who are unlikely to vote for the current government. Such as? Young people. Old people can use bus passes and such but young people with the same Id can't. What difference does it make when its the same Id? Just to discriminate against young people who historically are less likely to vote conservative.
