Let's hope so the corrupt fuckers. And they won't get the kind of money for Mount they might have expected 12 months ago. Loftus Cheek deserves a fresh start somewhere else. Mount is such an overrated player. I don’t see how he’d improve any of the top 4/5 teams. The one of the home grown talent I rate is Gallagher. Good player. Funny how people see things differently. Gallagher looks totally out of place in the Chelsea team but looked good in a bang average Palace team. Mount, I think, is a good footballer. Needs to play.

Does this mean he isn’t coming too stoke then? Not so much of a quiver from Pete’s dong. Coates out! Doesn't Denise hold the dong?

Another not quite elite appointment assuming it happens! This Todd blokes looking a bit of an idiot! How many "elite" managers are there in football these days? I'd say two, and they're both currently in stable jobs. Pochettino is in the group of managers just below Pep and Klopp, and about as good as Chelsea could hope for I'd say.

I read on the BBC pages that apparently he's seeking assurances of more control over squad building, so if the Board agree then it could work out. I'm just not sure I trust Boehly to keep his fingers out of the pie. The Yanks operate very differently to European owners and like to be hands on when something isn't working.

It's a tough gig for anyone to be fair, which sounds mental really but they're a bit of a mess squad wise with so many "top" players who don't even get close to the match day squad, and an owner who seems set on signing more players with no real thought on building a functioning squad.

Squad building will be hard there as he'll immediately have to contend with various senior players that numerous other managers have fallen afoul of.

Thinking that Lampard was just going to come in there and suddenly make a difference shows how out of touch with reality they are. I like Poch, but there's no guarantee that he'll be a fit there. Something's wrong at that place. Being from the US, I've never been a fan of Boehly, he's too much of a twiddler. Just because you have money doesn't suddenly qualify you to stir around with the staff at a professional sports franchise. It may give you the "right" to but it doesn't mean you should.
But I'm no fan of Chelsea so - go right ahead and keep screwing up! Seeing Watford's playoff hopes slip away, seems to me to be a good day so far.

That's the problem with some rich owners who buy a football club as a plaything. They don't do it as a sound business decision, they do it for fun. And there's no fun in assigning proper football people to make the decisions for you. They want to be able to experience a real-life version of Football Manager - choosing players to buy with a cheat code, go in and conduct team talks in the dressing room and in some cases, even select the team for a match day. Obviously City's owners are different cos Pep would not stand for any of Boehly's nonsense, and you'd think neither would Poch.

One of the things I like about Poch is that he WILL open his mouth if something's screwing up the works! If I had to predict, he'll end up being on the "outs" with Boehly, but at least Boehly will be told. Unfortunately some of these owners need to hear - You are here to supply funds - do that, shut the hell up and get out of the f*cking way. Just like the Talking Heads song - This ain't no party, This ain't no disco, this ain't no fooling around.

Do Chelsea actually have any more money to spend? Thought their whole strategy has been to spend crazy money this year on hot prospects then put them on massively long contracts. Doesn’t give them much wiggle room surely. SEVEN year contracts! Bizarre What’s their game here? Asking as someone who doesn’t know how transfers work admittedly It's so the transfer fee can be spread over a longer period, as fees are generally paid over the length of a player's contract. £100m over 4 years = £25m a year but £100m over 8 years = £12.5m a year. Chelsea are the reason why transfers now have a maximum repayment term of 5 years - a rule that was introduced European-wide this season.

New Chelsea manager grudgingly agrees to earn £20m for half-arsed six months MAURICIO Pochettino will today reluctantly agree to earn eight figures for doing a shit job as Chelsea manager until November. The manager, who has already won nothing with Tottenham and the bare minimum at Paris Saint-Germain, has agreed to take over at Chelsea because he had nothing much on this year and the money will come in handy. He said: “Sometimes, when you’re asked to bank a mighty fee for an abortive and short stint in a money pit, you just have to sigh, bow your head and reluctantly accept it’s your turn. “God knows I don’t want to be Chelsea manager. Nobody does. ‘Give it to one of these young ones,’ I said. ‘Let Jaissle from Red Bull Salzburg have a go.’ But they thought I was playing hard to get, doubled the fee and added a huge dismissal package. “‘Come on,’ I said. ‘Surely there’s better than me out there.’ They showed me the next name on the shortlist and it was Brendan Rodgers. “So I’m in. I’m pretty confident I can keep them up. We’ll blow a few hundred million in the summer on players I’ve weakly argued against, hang around the top four until autumn and then I’ll be sacked after a run of shit results and be my own man again. “Nobody understands the pressure top managers are under. Still, at least it’s not Spurs.” www.thedailymash.co.uk/sport/new-chelsea-manager-grudgingly-agrees-to-earn-20m-for-half-arsed-six-months-20230425234416

Just goes to show that Lampard is a clueless manager with no known managerial qualities,,,,,just look at his record! it does raise questions when you look at his recent record me and the lad i work with just had a discussion about chelsea, with the abundance of players they have surely any of us with a basic grasp of the game could have set up a 442 last night and borrowed a couple of the kids to play up front and just instructed them to keep it tight get the balls up the wings and into that box, the fact every manager is trying to be Guardiola these days is boring, i still reckon the capped one would have schooled him at our place back in the early prem days

Also liked the article about the Arse fan going into amnesia after the Citeh loss and forgetting what football is.

Who would want him after this latest managerial debacle? He’ll be lucky to get even a Championship job now. May have to start again from the bottom like Sparky had to after his reputation was shot.

I generally loathe Chelsea. In the seventies they were quite fashionable and at least they developed Alan Hudson for us! However with the coming of Abramhovic and the availabilty of transfer money, they became the club who contributed most to the modern reality that with strong financial backing you can effectively "buy a title" and it was Chelsea that created the model for this attitude, with some help from Man Utd.
Also I can remember about 15 years ago, some Pretentious prat at Chelsea saying "Chelsea are a European Club that plays its football in England". Well it might be a long time before they are in Europe again.

Jesus wept! I knew it was bad but didn’t realise just how bad. Saying that he knows the club and deserves to be paid an obscene amount of money for being totally inept at his job. Still it’s great to see Chelsea’s slide
