I love Powelly and he'd definitely be worth offering a new contract to. For too long he was our only threat and got kicked all over the place accordingly. In a team playing like we are at the moment he'll be a real asset - or are people saying Gayle is a better option? With a front three of Powell Campbell and Brown (this is assuming no signings up front) you'd still be looking at 30 odd goals between them, if we can secure Hoever then he's good for 20 as well A lot depends on the money he's on now, what's available elsewhere for him etc, but keeping him would be my preference.

A fit and firing Nick Powell would give us the extra dimension needed to beat teams who park the bus.
There is going to be a lot of bus parking by opponents before this season ends.
Attacking us is only going to end badly for them.

If he can stay fit and it's a big if I know, I would let him finish the season in the role he occupied Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised at how well he linked the play.

not knocking him but any new deal if offered should be on a pay as we cannot afford passengers at this level,

Depending upon his salary demands he could be good for a couple of years as an option leading the line, as it would allow us to focus on signing up the loan players, rather than dilute funds on a forward.
If we get the loan players signed up, then even with Gayle and powell as forward options we get promoted.

Powell had 5 seasons he was available for most of until he broke that bone last season - an injury that could have happened to anyone.
He could still end this season in our top 11 in terms of matches played, given there have been so many injuries and turnaround with loan players.

Maybe he’s seeing the way things are turning round and thinks I want some of that.

Maybe he’s seeing the way things are turning round and thinks I want some of that. Probably, he’s got the demeanour of someone who isn’t really arsed about whether he plays or not. As somebody said above, I think if he stays fit we should use him as we did on Saturday for the rest of the season anyway

Re sign if that’s how it’s meant to be written.

Re sign if that’s how it’s meant to be written. Relax a bit I just found it a little humorous as some on he would be delighted if he resigned
