A staged managed meeting. Strategically timed to coincide with the feel good factor currently around the club . Aimed probably at season ticket sales . Of course they had sight of the questions beforehand. Perhaps not all of them but John Coates always gives the game away in that regard. I don’t think he can think on his feet . AN and Tricky Ricky certainly can. It’s a meeting where the panel don’t really get asked any challenging or thought provoking questions. They don’t have to be in rich language . A far better meeting would be to stick a supporter in front of AN a few times a season rather than Angela’s softly softly approach. So AN there was a watershed match after which things went pear shaped. One of the many reasons for our fall from grace. The semi final of the league cup versus Liverpool. Going to penalties step forward ( or more accurately flop to the right ) a certain Jack Butland. The sky panel on the night commented with a fair degree of mirth as to Butland diving to the right. He subsequently faced 5 or 6 ( maybe more) penalties as a Stoke player. Each time falling to the right - sometimes before the ball had been kicked. Clearly no homework was done on opposition penalty takers. Clearly not practiced in training. Yet roll forward a year or so and as a Crystal Palace keeper the first penalty he faced ( v Brighton) he dived to his left and saved !! So AN do we do our homework now ? Do we practice in training. And it’s not just the keeper situation. Here is a list of our horrific record of taking penalties. Now that to me is the type of question that has more relevance. I’ve plenty more. I'm not sure what you mean. Did you want someone to ask a question about the methods of a manager four times removed? No wonder the questions are 'stage managed' if that's the best we can come up with.

..and then there's a handful of complete whoppers who come on and moan about them. Oh, alright Sportsman lad? How's it going? But my point if you read it is saying why they don't use social media, and I put why. A positive meeting turns into moaning about the club. Only on here. Oh and yeah I'm all good mate! I think it's understandable why people are moaning and groaning. The last 5 years have been pretty shoddy and that's being kind. Even the Chairman last night admitted he wasn't happy with where we are and that's quite rare in the modern game. I enjoyed it last night but I've enjoyed them before and you can understand the scepticism. I watched a podcast on YouTube earlier with Prutton interviewing Paul Warne at Derby and he was quite candid about football professionals using social media and how they get sucked in but but can't really avoid it from a social perspective.

No but I think Jack Butland might have been . Lol . You can understand the meeting being staged managed but roll back the O’Neill meeting and you may see what I mean .I’m a big fan of AN and when all and sundry were calling for his head it made me laugh . Though why he watches the opposition games 4 times ( as was said last night) seems an overkill. Sort of Don Review mark 2 but equally it shows how committed he is . Sleep tight

Of course the questions are filtered otherwise you would get some numbnuts asking ridiculous questions which would most likely rub all 3 of then up the wrong way. As ling as they weren't prewarned on what was being asked then I don't see the issue. The questions were fine.

I thought them being so public about wanting to keep many of the loan players was a good sign and I assume we already may have a couple of those deals in place.
All in all, was impressed and left feeling optimistic.

JC mentioned original plan to spend 20 million quid on upgrading the ground and Clayton wood has been ditched and will now be a lot more than that . I might be missing something? If we can spend these sums on the ground, why can't we spend it on players? At the end of the day, money is money FFP puts no restrictions on spending on things like upgrading and/or enlarging the stadium and the training ground but heavy restrictions on things like the buying of players and paying wages.

FFP puts no restrictions on spending on things like upgrading and/or enlarging the stadium and the training ground but heavy restrictions on things like the buying of players and paying wages. You are right , that is why . And we can't change the rules as JC and AN mentioned. Rightly or wrongly we have to go a long with them. But the first F ( financial) in effect means the powers that be ( arsenal, man utd, man city etc ) are happy for us to spend unlimited amounts ( certainly massively more than 20million quid , JC mentioned a lot more than that) on the ground, Clayton wood and the women's team.F in the loosest possible meaning of financial, we could spend a 100 million if we wanted! And the second F ( fair ) means that is very very fair for arsenal man utd,man city , Chelsea and the like . But very very unfair on Stoke and similar clubs . The big teams are allowed to spend 100 s of millions on their men's first team ( 600 million Chelsea, transfer fees and wages ) . But Stoke and the like , are heavily heavily restricted on what they can spend on their men's first team. FUP , Financial Unfair Play would be a more accurate set of initials than FFP . Deliberately making rules than mean in effect only a handful of clubs can spend big on their men's first team, is FUP , not FFP. We can outspent Chelsea and man city combined if we want, just so long as we don't spend it on the men's first team. It's FUP It's cheating.

He really backs himself and you can’t help but think he’ll do it.

What are the proposed changes to the stadium now? Initially it was the toilets and where the wealthy go but nothing more. I understand there’s talks about a fanzine but anything else?
Also all this talk about there being money to spend this summer, won’t it make it more difficult for us to negotiate transfer fees and wages? Or is it a fair assumption that clubs can easily research FFP and know that we’ve got a bit available?

Think you massively miss the point . The meet the manager is staged managed . Far better would be replacing Angela on weekly press duty a few times a year . Fans would have to be hand picked to ensure sensible questions and no rich language. So here’s another example. When in premier league we went something like 160 corners before scoring. Our current corner kick routines lack invention . It seems we just throw into the mix and hope our blocking strategies work. No Beckham/ Scholes corners ( last one was Fletcher v Watford) no sheringham corners ( Walters at West Ham the last) No Ocallaghan/ Maguire corners . No Sheffield United inventions . Over to you AN . I think he'll be fairly content with set pieces to be honest - I think only about three teams in the division have scored more from them than us? No you would get lots of pointless questions like the ones you suggested.
