Very happy with that!

Decent listen that and sounds like we are finally moving to a modern structure. About bloody time.

Ricky Martin doesn't like using 1 word where 5 will do, does he?
He seemed to think we'd have a very competitive budget, even with the parachuters though.

Think that's the nature of those mysterious creatures. All KPIs, Gordon Gecko braces, Filofaxes and BMW keyrings. Proof of the pudding is in the eating with them.

I don't see how any supporter can fault anything said, they were as open as they could be and in their own way, all spoke well. Certainly lots to be optimistic about around the place at the moment.

The best question asked all night was from the gent who asked Ricky Martin and Alex Neil about the role of the technical director. Positive answers from both.
It was a good watch across the hour. They all speak well. Alex Neil especially.
John mentioned an unexpected/surprising upcoming investment from the family didn’t he? Mentioned a conversation he’s had with Richard Smith.
It’s obviously not all rosy. But the club since the turn of the year (or tbf, since Ricky Martin has been appointed) has seemed more of a positive place than a negative. Slowly getting the right structure in place. Exciting ahead of a summer window of more spending than previous ones.

Anyone have a run down of the key points made? John completely opposes the EFL’s Profit and Sustainability model. But we are going to be (financially) very competitive in the summer. Does mention more family investment. Also says he and the family own Stoke because they’re fans. Would only ever invest in an abroad team (in a Man City model) if it would help Stoke City. Also says 13th isn’t anywhere near good enough but he’s seen enough recently to be very excited about the coming years. Ricky Martin and Alex Neil alluded to keeping a fair few of the loan players as imperative next season. They don’t want to start again in the summer. They want to add to the current team. Ricky Martin has almost complete control of the entire club. Every department reports to him. Including Alex Neil. Seems like John’s finally let someone else have a go of his Xbox. Ricky spoke a big game re. reforming (wouldn’t say revolutionising) the club. More data, less eye-test is what I gathered from it. Data analysts, specialist recruitment teams etc.

Is it just more or should stoke be more tight lipped on money we have to spend in the summer?
Other clubs will be putting their prices up if they catch we have money to spend

Have to admit I cannot warm to this bloke at all, everything he says seems to be incredibly dated, vague, buzzword-management speak.. all three-pronged approaches and identifying needs and helicoptering in. Basically reminds me of me trying to justify my crappy team leader job in about 2002. I find it a bit bewildering - and I suppose by extension reassuring - that he’s Alex Neil’s guy, AN wouldn’t seem to be someone to suffer that sort of slick jargonite too gladly if there wasn’t something of substance underneath it.

JC mentioned original plan to spend 20 million quid on upgrading the ground and Clayton wood has been ditched and will now be a lot more than that .
I might be missing something? If we can spend these sums on the ground, why can't we spend it on players?
At the end of the day, money is money
