Which makes it an even stranger signing if it's not until after Easter😞.

It’s already been said but Tuanzebe + Edwards/ Cresswell would have made me a whole lot more comfortable. I said previously as well, I don’t like the fact this is a loan. There’s not really a lot of upside apart from getting a very good player for a couple of months. I would much rather we take a player with serious fitness issues on loan than splash out on another crock who'll only play a handful of games for us if he doesn't get fit. If he does the business for us and there is clear improvement in team performance, there's every reason to believe he might want to sign permanently in the summer if we offer him a deal. For now though, this is a good low-risk move. If we get him playing there is no way he’ll sign for us. Someone in the prem will gamble on him.

I honestly didn’t know we had so many physiotherapist and fitness coaches on here.

I think everyone will be surprised if we are able to tease any meaningful action out of this fella but here's hoping🤞

It looks like Villa fans didn't think he set the world alight in his second and third spells with them.

On one of the photos of him in a Stoke shirt, he looks like he's just been sent down for 6 months.

Two levels of fitness at play aren't there? Actual fitness to get him on the pitch after 6 months out with a chronic back issue and haven't played first team football for 12 months match fitness! If everything goes smoothly I doubt we'll see anywhere near the best of him until Easter at the very earliest. Ten haag said in press conference last week he was 2-3 weeks away from being ready for selection. Was this trying to encourage clubs to come in for him?

Watching a re-run of the Villa v Derby playoff final on sky sports football and he's at the back for Villa alongside Mings. Looks a very good defender from this but obviously we need him fit and to have him on the pitch. Fingers crossed because he looks a real good defender and good on the ball aswell.

Who knows but even at 2-3 weeks, how rusty is he going to be after so long out? End of Feb / start of March for your first game...easily another month to fully get up to speed, and even that is if everything goes to plan without any knocks or tweaks, which let's be honest are probably likely. Ludicrous signing all in all.

To add more confusion to the opaque nature of this deal, I read on Today's BBC Football Gossip page, that Leeds Utd turned down an opportunity on Tuesday to take Tuanzebe on loan. I would assume that this wasn't just a situation involving Leeds in isolation, but a general availability invitation circulated to clubs in general. It then seems that we were probably the only club stupid or desperate enough to accept their terms and sign him?

Aah good old football gossip It’s all bang on the money on those sites so yeah Leeds were actively pursuing him ….Steve on Twitter with 2 followers ( mum and dad ) put it out there Wtf is happening to this place …..I’ll bet you all got sucked in by that Teamtalk bollocks 40 years ago on teletext

It's actually exactly 50k a week.. unless your year has less than 52 weeks that is Oops you're right lol! To be further pedantic though it's technically slightly less given there are just over 52 weeks in a year I stand corrected, that additional day is the killer for him and a leap year is a particularly bad year for him.

Leeds turned down the chance to sign him on loan according to the Athletic That’s not really surprising. He’s not shown that he’s of PL quality and will need to prove himself considerable for a team like Leeds to be interested. My bets are: 1) he’s crap for 5-10 games, he does okay and then well in the last few. He’s out of contract at Man Utd and a Premier League team then decide to take him. Or 2) he gets injured soon after/before his first game.

It looks like Villa fans didn't think he set the world alight in his second and third spells with them. He will do well for you. He is (was) very quick and can play. He didn't make it at Man Utd because he made too many mistakes and was playing under a buffoon of a manager. Whatever his failings, this is a defender who kept Kylian Mbappe firmly in his pocket.

Definitely have mate I'm off work for a long time for medical reasons(giant cell tumor of the bone) and basically can't get out of bed other than going to the toilet so any football to kill the time I will watch 🤣 just happened that he was playing in that game so did a bit of scouting and watched everything he did in that game, seemed very good on the ball and didn't do Alot wrong. Our problem it seems is getting him up to speed and then keeping him fit which I hope we can do because he could be quality for us.

My Manure supporting mate really rates him…..seems to think he’s been on loan at Napoli? Same here,Utd fan I work with says he's very good.Played against M'bappe apparently and marked him out of the game......his words, not mine. Yes,mine said he had him in his pocket….!
